I never thought this series would be in my top 5, but Gen Urobuchi is just a master story writer. Psycho-Pass seemed deceptively generic in the beginning as another futuristic, dystopian, cyberpunk Anime, but once things got rolling, I could not wait for the next episode. This series probably has one of the best villains in recent Anime history since Death Note's Yagami Light (depending on perspective), and is also as close to a battle of wits since Death Note coincidentally. Kougami and Makishima's interactions are interesting to no end, and you'll be racking your brain to figure out what the whole conspiracy is. There are also numerous real historical references made throughout the series and several references to the classic Ghost in the Shell, so if you're into this kind of stuff, then look no further.

Even if I don't usually like dark and bloody stories, I quite easily set aside this aspect of Psycho Pass and fell for its stunning and deep scheme. The story is rather unprecedent, and you get quickly caught into the atmosphere of the anime. The characters are all enjoyable, and some of them are so well psycholocally developped (the main antagonist obviously) that you'd almost wish the show not to evolve to keep learning about them forever. The plot is rich, complex but never fells into the predictable or the stereotype. The very dark, not to say gloomy ambiance sticking to the crimes scenes doesn't last the whole episode, and let to the characters' philosophical and psychological considerations the place they deserve to enhance the show. The music, even if discreet, still offers very nice themes, that stick perfectly to the situations. The chara design can surprise however, but you get used to it. To sum it up, Psycho Pass is an excellent surprise. Serious but not heavy, offering both action and good thinking, this show deserves a lot of attention.

Fate/Zero S2 continues with some of the most beautifully animated, high-octane fight sequences anime has to offer. The excitement is only amplified by the gripping way in which its dark story is told through the characters' dueling philosophies, all of which successfully masks the fact that this is a prequel. Few anime series truly deserve to be labeled "masterpieces," but Fate/Zero does everything right and leaves viewers hard-pressed to find even minor flaws. Forget best anime of the year, this was one of the best series anywhere this century!

If you liked the previous season, you'll love this. This anime has a serious tone but never boring, you get absorbed in the story and just want to see more. I WANT MORE!

If the 'thrilling conclusion to the best anime of 2011', and a great prequel to Fate/Stay Night isn't enough for you to watch this. Then I only feel pity. Either way, overall the animation was top notch, and the pacing felt right but I AM biased to Mirror Moon products. I definitely recommend watching it. I only have so much pity to give out.
