I recommend downloading the k-lite codec pack from http://www.free-codecs.com/Video_Codecs.htm , it has every thing u need and its easier than downloading individual components.

Try FMA(fullmetalalchemist) that has pretty good action scenes with a great storyline, also HunterXHunter has alot of action and a pretty interesting storyline, especially its ovas.
