Paradise Kiss

Paradise Kiss was aired in Japan last week, I was kinda shocked since I didn't find any thread on this anime. Paradise Kiss is one of Ai Yazawa's popular manga, the manga was released in 2001. The entire serie of manga has been translated into english and published by Tokyo pop. For any of you who don't know Ai Yazawa, she also did popular manga serie such as Kagen no Tsuki~Last Quarter~ and NANA.
Last time I heard, Paradise Kiss was going to released about 12-13 ep. The 2nd ep was released today. It is a romantic story between the girl name Yukari, who is a beautiful but trouble teen who tried so hard in school, but later she found her passion in modeling. George is a top fashion designer(student) from Yaza Art Design Institute, and a very self-centerd individualist. The story is based on the chemistry between this two VERY different individuals. The entired serie described the huge impact those two has on each other characteristically, emotionally and physically within just SIX DAYS!! and YES!! bare that in mind, during the whole serie, only six days passed.

The serie was a VERY tragical story in the manga, though I'm not absolutely sure, but I'm pretty sure that the anime is gonna be tragic too^^lll and those two characters don't end up together@@

saw ep1, i like it, its quirky and funny. though an anime about fashion? well its worth a shot based on the interesting characters.

I got a question about it though..
is this anime meant to be more comtempary to japanese culture then the other type of stories
or is this just another fantasy...

I don't think the guys who likes action series will not like this and its shoujo... I still watch it tho just curious how will this series go..And I like the OP kinda unique...

I thought this anime was very unique. The animation is probably the first thing you notice. Not too many animes go to this kinda animation now a days. Mainly cause it looks out of date. I kinda like it though.

I'll continue to watch this anime. But so far it doesnt really grab my attention too much at the moment.

I like the series!
It's based off the manga and I find the character designers did their best to keep the originality of the drawing style. I always wanted to read the manga...well seems like the animation studio was faster in producing the anime, Laughing

The opening theme has turned into my current favorite tune <3

I was planning of making some fandub clips out of this, but I can't really find a place to get raws for PK....anybody has an idea?

Did you say NANA? Oh... guess I'll not watch this series then... her fashion taste doesn't goes with me, the artwork of the manga make me puke... well I don't really like the Manga drawn by that mangaka to begin with... anyways, GOOD LUCK for those who are going to give this series a try... hope you enjoy and don't be like me... ^^

I'm still not sure about this anime,I'll have to give it a couple of more eps to make a full decision,but i do like the art style.

I've watched the first two episodes, I don't like the whole weird stuffed animals going gaga though...

It's certainly different from the anime I regularly watch.

i really liked the anime so far. I think its pretty good, it makes me want to buy the manga. i like her artwork and style of clothes, although i don't think yukari looks that good with short bangs

No, there is no action in this series.

This is def. one of the anime series I'll keep up with.

I've only seen the first one and though it appealed to me, I couldn't help but be a bit annoyed by the slow pacing.
