Anime-Source's Sypnosis and Review

Solty is a robot girl who is living with Roy, a bounty hunter. By the encounter of various people, she begins to behave like a human. However, at the same time, she realizes that she is not a human.
When the secret of Solty is revealed, she and the other people will be involved in the plot...

The first ep has rolled off the fansubs' production line

First Impressions: I have been waiting for this one for so long, and I am not dissappointed. Nice artwork, kinda of a fitting musics, and interesting characters are been presented to us. I think the developments between Roy and Solty (assuming that is the girl's name) will be different than other animes, I think

Verdict: Throwing this one into my "Watchlist"

) said that this one reminds him of Bubblegum Crisis. Since I havent seen that one, nor I know who is Kirika (my guess is Hunter X Hunter), I have no comments on that

well then just watched ep 2

Well nothing interesting in this episode, except now the girl has been given the name of Solty and live with Miranda. Oh, and it seems they cleared up Solty's name in that break-in incident.

Another thing is that in the end, they showed a monitor showing the name Solty. I wonder if that is her CPU and was waiting to be given a name?

Side note: Solty got the weirdest of ears. And it seems to me that they failed a bit in drawing the nose in the frontal view of a character. But then again, maybe this is just me.

ep 2 was preaty good, solty does some cool moves to stop that 2nd bullet, but one thing is bothering me, if shes a robot then why does she eat food? cyborg maybe?

well since not many people have commented on the series yet, I guess i should give my 2 cents. The person who commented its like Kirika is correct. Its a combinantion of bubblegum crisis and other similar series. Yet, without a doubt the influence done by bubblegum crisis is striking. The older anime fans like myself will remember bubblegum crisis. The armor used by the elite girl squad are completely ripped from bubblegum. The world they created is pretty similar as well. If you don't know the series i'm talking about then I suggest you start googling now. Its a great series. By the way the OVA called bubblegum crush/crash was also made and has a darker stoyrline.

Concerning the show itself, I think it has alot of promise. Gonzo has done alot of good shows in the past, but they've also done really crappy ones as well. I hope they give this show a proper ending.

As a cyberpunk genre fan (i've read all of William Gibson novels, read "Neruomancer", people!) I'll put this show on my "HAVE TO WATCH" list. I hope you guys do too.

Yeh, i can see bubblegum crisis similiarities.

What this anime also reminds me of is another anime: "Battle Angel Alita"
I think its the future theme with bounty hunters and main characters who are super strong robot girls

soon as i saw them suits the 2 girls was wearing i had to stop the show and see what the name of the anime was called. them suits were soo simular to the BGC suits. i thought for a sec i was watching some BGC off shoot or somthing. love BGC Very Happy

. so anyway, i'm likeing this show so far, still confused as to why she ate food. is she a cyborg or a robot? that sinper guy called her something but i forget what it was. and when she saw that bounty hunter guy she got teary eyed like as if she knew him. maybe the memorys of his daughter are locked inside or her Question

just watched ep 3.

Looks like we have been introduced to all the main players now. The geeky technician and the three thieves. And why I got the feeling that it was Miranda's that submitted Roy's name as Solty's guardian? She was pretty slick if that is true Very Happy

Sidenote: The insert in the first half of the episode is kinda nice, and also the background music too. But this is speaking based on music preferences, so not everyone will agree with me Razz

Some of the vehicle and outfit designs made me curious if Range Murata designed some of those, so I searched and it seems my intuition was correct.
Range Murata was responsible for some of its conceptual designs. Wink

That bike is very typical of Range Murata's design.

well, it will be better if he draws the girl too though. I like his girls, like tatiana and alistia from last exile (in case of tatiana, who is almost the same girl as the girl from blue sub no 6 Razz
