About Her and Her Father Relationship:
Well... I think the Father-daughter relationship here is much better compare to Nina Wong and her Father Sergay Wong in Mai-Otome...
I'm probably stating the obvious when I say this, but the relationship between them is staticky (sp?) only because Roy wants to keep his focus on his goal of finding his real daughter. If he accepts Solty as a "substitutute" daughter, he may feel as though he is replacing his little girl.
Oh, and the comment about Sergay and Nina Wong is true, haha... seems like he's just building her up to be one of those super-women, probably spazs out if she gets a A- or something. (Mai-Otome reference for those of you are confused)

does anyone get the feeling that maybe a small miniscule part of Solty IS his daughter? that would make for a great plot twist!
They said Solty doesn't have any biological parts at all, so that wouldn't work.
and That's kind of expected by viewers, it wouldn't be a twist at all. But she may have something to do with the real daughter. _________________ [IMG:258:200]http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v435/ypark/sigs/3fsn.png[/img]

well there might have been somekind of mindtransfer considering Sloty acts like a real child and not like a computer program
so Roys daugther might live in slotys mind

I prefer something more... extraordinary though. Like his daughter is alive and well. NOW that's would leave some kind of a drama to "what will happen to Solty then?" rather than "OMG Solty is his daughter after all?"
Plus, the second is rather... plain too. And I am a staunch believer that Solty is not, in any way, Roy's daughter, until they have proven otherwise _________________ ...
I picked up the first episode of the series and enjoyed it. I thought it could fit the bill for some Lite animé watching. However, it seems either the torrents or shinsen-subs site is down. Anyone know what the situation is?

FUNimation. Read it all up on shinsen-subs.org
including the past "drama" that have been going on
Oh, sorry I thought you were joking when you said FUNimation got the licence. I never knew FUNimation was licensing anything other than DBZ... Well, what do you know... they actual licensed some decent stuff. Even Hare nochi guu; which I never thought it'll ever get licensed.
Anyways, I wish they'd stop attacking the fansubbers. They've done nothing wrong other than build up the fan base for their licensed shows. _________________ [IMG:258:200]http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v435/ypark/sigs/3fsn.png[/img]

Well I don't have any complains, GONZO's work are snapped up pretty quick. They also acquire Black Cat, but nothing official yet. (Expect Basilisk drama?)
It's just a sigh on how the world works. It is licensed in the US, so the rest of the world missed out Oh well the servers are in US, so can't complain about that
Took the liberty of watching the raws though (l33t-raws, if anyone curious)

Well ep 8 just gave us a bit background on Rose. She still bugs Roy as usual, but it seems she has a dark past, a revenge that needed to be taken care of. It seems that someone killed her friends or something, can't really put my finger on it. Well in the end, Roy seems tender-hearted by this, helping her out a bit, even he doesn't grumble like what he usually done on the breakfast table.
ep 9 is another filler-type episode, where it was just another "normal" day off for the gals of RUC, and for everyone else too. But that main guy on RUC (that masked guy) seems to be hitting on Rose, and Miranda teached Solty how to cook, that brings forth some of Roy's memories of the past, long buried....
Pretty interesting, on the reason Roy still believe that his daughter is still alive, and he searching for her. It was to fulfill a promise to his dead wife... (it was his wife death's anniversary...)

thats sad, maybe some other group will pick it up. I WOULD go buy it if like......they licensed it later, when we get to see more of the show, and I've made a judgement call. If the licensing companies were smart, like they did with Basilisk, they'd license it like mid way thru. Because basilisk is much more of a must buy.

there making more? i thought i head that there was a 2042 being made that was was sooo long ago.
There is very limited info regarding this, but what I could find is right here http://www.animenewsnetwork.com/encyclopedia/anime.php?id=1803 I was only tipped off to it because I went to some website that ADV ran and all it had was an image of one of the girls in their hardsuit with "coming soon" under it. It's been on the backburner for a while now, who knows if they'll go through with it at this point or not.
Anyway, to stay on topic, I'm really enjoying Solty Rei. The artwork is stunning (wouldn't expect anything less from Gonzo). I love the girls from RTU (that's the right acronym, right?), I wish they'd show them more. Who knows.... maybe they'll end up living with Roy too, haha. _________________ GTX: Great Teacher Xeno... my daily blog about teaching in an elementary and middle school in Japan (see right-menu)
