Elfen Lied

I'm with Mr./ Ms. whatiwouldntdo. Elfen Lied is one of the best ever! Anyone heard anything lately about a second series? I'm still hoping and praying, but I haven't heard anything about any new stuff. I'm really loving the Manga Anime-source has made available for us. Thanks again!!!

). It's just to pick up on GRC's original gripe with Elfen Lied being manipulative.

Now, call me stupid here (or arrogant or naive or whatever else slanging was going on earlier) but surely a story by definition is manipulative. A story is created by a person, or several persons, in order to get a point across, to make a person think about something, or to make a person feel a certain way. If you're going to start taking issue with that then you might as well not read or watch stories. Or any literature of any kind in fact.

If anything, GRC, I think you've been manipulated more by your friends' views than by Elfen Lied.

I'm guessing the person outside the door at the last episode is Lucy-chan. Almost everyone would have think that it is Lucy isn't it? Who else can it be? Shocked

I don't understand the infatuation people have with this anime. It's just over the top nudity and gore strewn together with a poorly thought out and senseless plot.

It looks like mr./ms. Jinjo is trying to stir things up a bit, which is always interesting. I agree the nudity and gore were extreme. But can you name other series that have more interesting plots, interesting characters, and the super strong emotions of Elfen Lied? I thought Mai Hime, Monster, Eva, the Ninja Scroll movie, FMP 2nd Raid, FMA, and Speed Grapher all came somewhat close. But only close. Don't wimp out! Let's hear what you've got!

The plot of this show was a joke, and if you find there are super strong emotions in Elfen Lied then you are probably on prozac. There are tons of better shows out there that had more of an emotional impact than this piece of trash ever could.

So far, Mr./Ms. JinJo, you've wimped out and not produced any examples of better shows. I'd love to see more Elfen Lied level intensity, if you actually know of any. What have you got?
