Hey, i've watched a few animes here and there and i realise that some 2nd/3rd season animes are really messed up compared to their first series
Take Gundam Seed for an example. Gundam Seed had a few reused scenes here and there, but GSD had so much more.
And the ending for Gundam Seed wasn't too bad, compared to whats happening in GSD
Then i watch the Gensomaden Sayuki series
First season rocked, pretty good humour and action
Second season, got a little weird at one point. Action quality pretty much decreased.
Now... Third season, Goku is no longer the super powered monkey anymore. The story is about getting to the west and this series is totally out of point. They have reused demons and all the demons look the same. And the story was stupid to me. I mean
Heinz was like a total Fanboy of Sanzo, hes like "Oh Sanzo! Please join my side of darkness and we shall rule together!"
Action was below average.
So what do YOU think? _________________ "Never give up on hope, and hope will never give up on you"

does the poll have anything to do with what u wrote/typed? if so, ill check my eyes...
anyways, whether it is or not is a matter of perspective.
in a way i guess it is costing the industry, not necessarily destroying it, but also promoting it and getting fans ready for a licensed release...well thats how i see it anyways.
i dont know, i guess that most the time the first series is better...maybe because the mangaka put all their best ideas forward and all their creativy into the work and they never think about releasing a second series.
i quite like the fumoffu series as opposed to the first.
steel angel was kinda the same i guess...but i still love that series
onegai teacher and twins, in my oppinion teacher was slighty better than twins.
yeah i kinda dont like GSD either, its all about freaking coordinators...
i thot that destiny would feature a natural lead character or something.
probably only second series i liked was mahoro. well, thats just me anyways. _________________ [img:567:138:151453bb6b]http://www.anime-source.com/upload/uploadFiles/wahagifsda.gif[/img:151453bb6b]

wow i guess im the only that has voted. but like most movies the sequals never really stand up to the original because the original was so great it's hard for the director to surpass. sometimes they manage to do it sometimes they don't and they destroy a movie/series. but i find that it happens moreso in movies than in animes. _________________ [img:350:100:b9d927e767]http://i4.photobucket.com/albums/y104/tehalbino/gaara2.png[/img:b9d927e767] |

It depends on if the anime is worth getting sequel for, and if the team behind the original is helming it once again. There are plenty of animes that have sequels that dont deserve them, and there are even more animes that deserve sequels but dont have them... It depends. I dont really think that Onegai Teacher deserved a sequel, but it did. _________________ Miku Miku!!

It depends. sequels in anime are usualy decent, but its when an anime just never ends that it gets killed. Like pokemon, dragon ball saga and Naruto is starting to get on my nerves.
(sorry if anybody is a fan of these anime, just my opinion, i dont hate them or anything). |

hmm i dunno.....i don't think i actually watched too many animes with sequels. i mean DBZ was pretty good..but i guess the sequel for dbz was gay beyond gay..lol. yes i'm talking about GT
as for GS and GSD..well in my opinion gs was already ruined to begin with...the sequel just probably helped with it's demise..ol.
and saiyuki...well haven't watched the following sequels ...heard that they sucked as well. i personally just think that it was good humor wise....everything else just plain bite~!
ok here's my conclusion: if it's a hit type anime such as FMA or nauto..then yes i do think sequels could kill the orginality and spark of the anime. But in some cases it's proven to be alright to have sequels. creators just have to be cautious on how they approach things. there is such thing as to having too much of a good thing. It's usually best to just keep it the way it is in order to maintain a series' greatness. But if the series is already dead..then y would one want to watch the sequel? hopes for it being improved is usually slim to none~! _________________

| That depends. Sometimes a sequel just filled otakus or anime fans with more joy, for seeing more of the anime they like, such as FMP. Sometimes, the sequel is just crap, and ruined the perfect image of the anime... |

You need to add an option called "depends"... because it seriously depends on which anime. Example:
GS sequel (GSD) is a disappointment.
FMP! sequel (TSR) is NOT a dissappointment... well worth watching.
Da Capo sequel (DCSS) is not bad
... ... etc etc
Can't really vote ^^"... |

| if at all, the only sequel presently that comes into mind was seed destiny. there are others (ZZ gundam and DBGT, to name a few), but they weren't as terrible as what seed destiny had to offer |

| It pretty much depends on the anime that is getting the sequel. Some are the anime fans greatest dream and others are their worst nightmare. I just don't watch the seguel if I didn't like the first one very much. |
