Viz's upcoming release of Bobobo-bo Bo-bobo will not be volume 1. In fact, Viz's upcoming graphic novel release will have no volume number as it is a standalone release. However the content of the graphic novel will come from the 9th volume of the Japanese release.

Viz included an excerpt from Bobobo-bo Bo-bobo in a previous issue of Shonen Jump USA, and due to positive feedback have decided to release a standalone graphic novel.

Evelyn Dobocq, 37, director of publis relations at Viz Media explains, "We picked a portion of the series that was a good representation of, and a good introduction to, the title."

Not wanting to leave readers with a cliff-hanger, Viz chose the interlude portion of the manga from later volumes, which is not part of an ongoing story arc.

While not currently comitted to releasing the entire manga, they haven't ruled out future releases either.

i really dislike this manga...its sooo stupid. i read the first chapter and man it was not for me... Rolling Eyes

It's kinda about like how the main caracter have a wierd kind of hair in the future or something... I saw it from the preview, looks like it's gonna be very random and funny... and... stupid at the same time... (the afro is pretty cool

T_T i have been a fan of bobobo for some time now T_T wishing for new chapters to be relesed by scanlation groups then i heard viz was doing it and i was sortof happy cuz i mean even thought there mite be little changes i didnt think it would be bad.. and then they go and do this............. >_< *sigh*

any1 know why there isnt scans past c15! >_<

k, I beleive u now that there is a manga name like this.

but anyone could tell me - is it worth to drive for 2 hr to get it? (i'm sure that bookshop near my house does not have it) Very Happy

no it's not. if i were you, then i would wait for volume 1 to be released. i'm boycotting bo-bobo until they release volume 1.
