Soul Calibur III came out yesterday, FINALLY for the PS2 only! I spent the better portion of my afternoon playing it nonstop. I must say, ITS FRIGGIN SWEET. The fighting system was tweaked slightly it seems, so the action is actually more intense than it used to be. Plus, it seems like they really raised the difficulty sky high. In Soul Calibur II I could easily beat Very Hard opponents and occasionally beat Extremely Hard ones, but now I find myself struggling just to beat Hard mode! I though it was awesome that they included a real time strategy RPG with your created characters : ANOTHER awesome feature. So far I am loving this game big time. Has anyone else purchased this game yet? If so tell us what you think of it so far!

I have bought both the PS2 and GC version. For control - PS2 and I think that the GC has the best character, Link.
I don't have my ps2, but it is a game I wish to check out. |

Im talking about Soul Calibur 3, not Soul Calibur 2. Soul Calibur 3 is a PS2 exclusive. I just finished making another character. Man I love this feature so much! I named her after my new good friend Himitsu!  So far the twin kunais are the best weapon for the create a characters. Although beating somebody to death with a tambourine is HILARIOUS!

| I'm glad they released it only for PS2. There is no way SC3 could be done on GC. Even the PS2 is having a little trouble running the game. Anyway, I'm also glad that they added a lot of features epecially with more characters. I'd like to fight and beat the giant one day... |

| yes soul calibur, i have every 1. the soul edge and all the soul calibur 2 . i bought every1. from the origanl to the best hits. iso much money. like the 59.99 for xbox, PS2 and GC, and 29.99 for the GC, and 19.99 For the Xbox and the PS2. have SC 3 now. i want to know why is the USA version release before the JP version. THAT IS CONFUSSING. I have made so much. soul calibur charater. To bad no online gaming, and this is the last. series in the fanchises. SO SAD. |

it's becuase of me. i love the game so much. that i went to still alot of merchendise. like sound tracks, and so on. so canadian got piss off. and talked with the Jp Namco, and i did it in canada. OMG |

Yikes! This game is hard. I'm in the process of unlocking things so I can't spend much time perfecting one favorite character, but I keep encountering an opponent that repeatedly kicks my ass (especially Mitsurugi).
It doesn't seem like you can set the difficulty on the story mode.

No you cant set the difficulty in story mode. I am getting the hang of the AI now. I can beat the game fairly easily with all characters. Yes even Astaroth. But surprisingly enough, my best character is still Himitsu, the ninja that I have created. the Kunai is a good weapon, but once you unlock the Katana and Shuriken, THEN you start whomping on people left and right. So far I have a combo that does 83 damage, which is decent damage for a really fast attack.
Has anyone else fought the TRUE last boss of the game? Its not Abyss...

There's other last boss? It's not Olcadan is it?
I hear you can also unlock KOS-MOS's outfit from Xenosaga. That would be pretty sweet. I'm still not good with any one specific character, I'm still trying out all the characters till I find one suitable to use.
I really love the create character feature, although it's taking a long time to unlock all the stuff. But that's a good thing cuz it increases its playtime and replay value.
Oh and I unlocked Amy, I wish she'd have more dialogues, seems she's only able to say "Amy...". I'm disappointed, she's no better than a custom character if she doesn't have any profiles or dialogues... Although she does have a character art in museum mode. Hehe but I still like her. and Raphael blows.

It's not fair you only beat me because I haven't got the chance to play it yet! Rematch!!! I demand a rematch in 2 months so I can have my sweet revange! ok I'll stop joking around now.
Well we'll see if you've gotten bored of the game when I get my hands on it. A few friends of mine are gonna rally up together and we're going to have a mini tournament against each other or just a SC3 night.
Anyway I think I should ask kami to change the topic to just Soul Calibur 3 insteed so we don't get a Soul Calibuer 3 France/China/Germany/Canada/England etc on our hands |
