The story is about friendship between a girl and a robot. The girl has lost her memory, and she is suffered from deadly ill. The robot, Suzu, has memory transferred from a dead person.

[NOTE:] The script was awarded the first prize of the 3rd annual Animax contest. The winners of the 1st and 2nd contest were "Super Kuma-san" and "Azusa Otetsudai Shimasu" respectively.

This one is an one-shot OVA, a single 40 min animation. I was attracted by the note found in the sypnosis, and I was not in the least dissappointed.

In that short 40 mins, I was instantly pitied Hotori's condition, which memories are slipping and vanishing with passing of times. In that short 40 mins, I was intrigued by Suzu's curiousity and was amazed by his sudden emotional development, that made him stands out from being "Ryou".

As Suzu starts to recognize his own existence, and was scared of it, Hotori on the other hand was scared of losing her own existence. And that just sparked a friendship that will last for all eternity, literally.

Although I found the pacing to be a bit too fast, but I can't just imagine what to put in between the beginning and the end. Maybe some flashbacks and backgrounds could be approriate, but all in all, this anime truly deserves that title.
