Spike and Faye from Cowboy Bebop
VS.
Mirielle Bouquet and Kirika Yuumura from NOIR


"The sound of a thousand silent screams echoed throughout the corridors of this place. Crimson stains of blood rest upon every corner, upon every inch of this mammoth office complex, the final resting place of many a member of the Soldats. Each corridor led to offices containing documents written in a forgotten tongue, which in turn where doused in the unholy lifeblood of those who supposedly protect the lost lambs. This was El Enfant, The Child, the central core of the Soldats. Long ago it fell to the black souls of NOIR, and once again NOIR defeated their masters in a bloody final conflict. This blood stained building is the last known location of Mirielle Bouquet and Kirika Yuumura, codenamed NOIR. Bouquet is 23 years old. While Yuumura is only 16 she is the stronger of the two. They are extremely dangerous assassins who can use anything as a weapon. This place once housed every key member of the Soldats, an organization that threatened to take control of every infrastructure we had. NOIR took care of that. These are no ordinary assassins. It is said that those who encounter them never live to see the next sunrise. Those who are skilled and brave enough to eliminate NOIR will take a bounty of any price requested. That is all. END OF MESSAGE."

Spike casually walks through one of the many corridors of El Enfant, kicking up dust and papers with every other step. "Sooooo, what are we doing here again?" Faye quickly punches Spikes stomach leaving him on the floor. "Idiot. Didn’t you listen to ANY of the message I just played?" Faye looks away in disgust, "Damn. You are more retarded than I thought." Spike gets up and begins to laugh heartily. "Come on I was just kidding! Can’t you take a joke? It’s a simple bounty hit. Kill ‘em and collect the reward." "I dont think its going to be that easy," Faye responds. "According to what little we could get from the Soldats' records, together with one other deceased assassin, they killed over 328 other assassins over a span of 4 months. That’s more hits than our entire career..." Spike and Faye continue walking down another dark and silent corridor, without a word. Finally Faye exclaims, "WELL!!! Doesn’t that freak you out just a little bit?!" Spike puts his hands in his pockets, and says, "No not really. Why should I worry about it at all? Maybe the Soldats just had a bunch of crappy people workin` for ‘em. That does not mean that I will meet the same fate." Faye tightens her fist and clenches her teeth tightly. "You arrogant bastard. You know they could be like right behind us and we would not even know it!" Spike suddenly stops ahead of Faye and extends his open hand towards her. "Shut up. Be quiet. Get a damn grip on yourself. I can’t take both at the same time. I'm going to need you to take care of one of them at least. After this job, we will be on easy street from now on. That stupid anonymous organization gave us a one way ticket to freedom. Don’t fuck it up." Spike throws Faye a gun. "Take this, and when I give you the signal, run back the way we came. Find a good place to wait for her." "You asshole! Don’t talk to me like I’m some sort of amateur. And stop talking like this is our last job." Faye cocks the gun and holds it in the air. "And what makes you think that...." BANG. The sounds of a Beretta M1934 and a Walther P-99 shatter the once silent office complex. Spike and Faye both roll forwards and backwards respectively as the bullets strike the wall, causing chunks of debris to fall to the ground. "GO!" Spike yells out, as he dashes forward to the end of the hall, kicking up dust and papers along the way. Faye screams out while running back, "YOU BETTER NOT DIE, SPIKE!!! IF YOU DIE, I’M GOING TO KILL YOU!" "LATER!" Spike yells out before both disappear into the darkness of the opposing halls.

A chunk of the ceiling crashes to the floor, followed by Mirielle Bouquet and Kirika Yuumura. They both land in a crouching position, covered in a cloud of dust. Mirielle rises, turns to Kirika and smiles. "Well forget staying clean today, um?" Kirika is staring at the floor in silence. Finally she says, "They...they are like us. They know nothing but death and murder." Kirika looks up at her partner. "Do we have to do this Mirielle? Can’t we just leave this place?" Mirielle closes her eyes and sighs. "Kirika... would they stop if we did leave? You heard the tall one. He called us their "ticket to freedom". They won’t stop until they bring out bodies to that organization." Kirika closes her eyes and stays in silence for a good while. Finally, she puts in a clip of ammo into her Beretta M1934. Mirielle smiles, and walks over to her. Kirika looks up at her with sad eyes that had seen much too much pain in her short life. Mirielle puts her hand on Kirika's cheek and strokes her face gently. Kirika smiles and touches the soft hand on her cheek while resting her hand against it. Mirielle goes over and gently kisses Kirika's trembling lips with tender loving care."Its okay Kirika. This is it. Once we finish this last job, we can live in peace. Away from all the killing and away from the Soldats. Somewhere where we can live without our weapons, together. I promise you." Kirika's closes her eyes and smiles while beginning to shed tears of joy. "Oh Mirielle... I.....I..." Mirielle smiles and nods. "I know. You still have lots of tea to make me you know." Mirielle loads her Walther P-99 with a fresh clip, and says, "Let’s finish this Kirika." Kirika smiles and nods and heads in the direction that Spike went. Mirielle watches her fade away, and heads into her own darkness towards Faye.

Faye remains motionless beside the door of one of the many offices in El Enfant, waiting for her enemy to appear. "How the hell did I get talked into taking this job? Damn Spike... He should have just come by himself if he thought it was dangerous. Rat bastard." Suddenly Faye hears footsteps coming from down the hall. She quickly readies her self for battle. "Okay Faye, just relax, you can do this. This is your last job. After this you can retire early. Maybe buy a ship, cruise the universe, do whatever you want." A smile creeps over Faye's face. "Oh yeah, bitch. You are going down!" Faye quickly covers her mouth. "Shit!! I said that out loud!" The door crashes into the room from Mirielle' kick right afterwards. Faye quickly tries to get a shot, but Mirielle was already attacking. Mirielle kicks the weapon out of Faye's hand, and it slides underneath a file cabinet. Mirielle aims at Faye, but Faye ducks underneath and grabs Mirielle's arm and forces her backwards, slamming her arm into the wall repeatedly to in an attempt to disarm her. On the fifth slam the Walther P-99 flies out of Mirielle's hand. Faye smiles, and punches her dead in the stomach, sending Mirielle to the floor on her knees. "Hah! Got you, bitch!" Faye exclaims as she attempts to knee thrust Mirielle's face. Mirielle dodges the attack, and quickly rises to an uppercut that connects with Faye's chin. Faye stumbles a little, but quickly regains her balance and launches a haymaker towards Mirielle's head. Mirielle moves her head just in time, and strikes her with an elbow thrust that connects with a loud crack. Mirielle quickly follows this attack with a high kick towards Faye's head that also connects with a loud thud. This blow sends Faye down to the floor and sliding right into the left wall next to tall wooden coat rack. Faye spits out a mouthful of blood onto the floor, and screams at Mirielle. "If I hadn’t said that out loud you would have been dead by now!" Mirielle laughs and says, "Right. And your obvious footprints that lead straight to this door had nothing to do with it. You are no better than an amateur." Faye's eyes flare with anger. She grabs the wooden coat rack and strikes Mirielles face with it, knocking her to the floor face down. Faye repeatedly strikes her on the floor with the coat rack several times. "Amateur this bitch!" she exclaims as she beats her with it. Mirielle manages to roll out of the way of the next strike and quickly kicks the rack out of Faye's hands, breaking it in half. Mirielle quickly rises and says, "Only amateurs get angry that easily." Mirielle now stands on top of the door she kicked down in the beginning of the fight, in front of the doorway, while Faye is right in front of Mirielle in front of the desk in the center of the office. Faye looks around for a weapon, but sees nothing within reach. "Shit. What am I going to do? She is stronger than me, AND more skilled. I need my weapon..." Faye suddenly sees her gun out of the corner of her eye underneath the cabinet. "There it is. Now what can I do to get it and not die..." A smile creeps across Faye's bloody face once again. She quickly bends down and picks up the door that Mirielle is standing on, knocking her down and into the hall outside, also flipping the door over entirely and into the corridor, bringing a huge cloud of dust that makes it impossible to see anything. Seizing the opportunity Faye races towards her weapon underneath the cabinet. She grabs it, and runs towards the cloud of dust outside. She looks around for her adversary, but sees nothing "Shit, where the hell did she go?" She hears a noise from behind. Faye's eyes widen, and she quickly turns around only to stare into the barel of a Walther P-99. The dust settles, revealing Mirielle holding her gun to Faye's head, and Faye's held to Mirielle's.

Kirika follows the trail of footprints for a long time, up flights of stairs and back down again, until finally she runs across a fork where the footprints go in two directions. "It may be a trap. If I choose the wrong one, I will put myself and Mirielle in danger." Finally she decides to take the left path, which leads to a huge observatory type stadium where odd experiments took place. As Kirika walks down the left path, a shadowed figure creeps towards her while she is completely unaware of its presence. Kirika finally enters the observatory. It features a huge stadium of seats that surrounded a dome in the center, where one could watch as events unfolded down there. Kirika slowly walked down the steps towards the center dome, weapon drawn and ready to fire. Each step echoes throughout the abandoned area. Eventually Kirika reaches the center dome and looks down below. She sees various medical examination tables, covered in dried up blood and skeletons. All of a sudden, a she feels a presence, and she turns around while firing a few rounds in the direction of the noise. She quickly turns around and bolts to her left, circling the dome and taking the third set of stairs from the entrance. She fires three more shots towards her left, and finds cover behind the top row of seats. Silently she stays there for a few moments, until she peeks her head out slightly for a brief moment. A gun goes off and a bullet hits next to her head on the wall. "He is better than I expected..." she thinks to herself. Kirika closes her eyes and stays at her position for the time being.

Spike looks out from his position to check her position. "Wow, this girl can move AND shoot. If only she were older..." Spike smiles to himself at this thought. Spike moves from his position in front of the dome and circles around it. He stops to check around the corner of it, and he sees nothing. A gun goes off, and suddenly the glass dome above him shatters, causing him to cover his face. "Crap, she could be coming in on me. Spike sends off several rounds in front of him, and tries to turn back the way he came. Another shot goes off and barely misses his right arm. "Woah! That came from above..." he thinks to himself. Spike smiles, and crashes through the dome. He lands among rotting corpses that don’t even seem human anymore. "God it smells like crap!" he says. He quickly runs forward into the darkness, and hides among the bodies and old machinery. "Now she HAS to come in after me. I am a genius." Spike waits silently and motionlessly, seeking the proper chance to strike.

Kirika, from her higher position, watches as Spike leaps into the dome. Blood trickles down her arm from the bullet wound inflicted from Spike as Kirika grips it in pain. She tears a part of her tanktop off and wraps the wound up tightly, grimacing at the pain. "Mirielle...." she whispers to herself. An image of Mirielle's kiss from earlier comes into her head, causing the pain to dissipate and a smile cross her face. Kirika gets another magazine of ammo, and locks it in. She then runs toward the back exit of this place, towards the other entrance to the lower experiment area.

I think that Spike and Faye will win. It seems to me that Mirielle and Faye are at a tie and Spike has taken no damage while Kirika has taken a wound to the arm. The wound to the arm on Kirika will limit her hiding as well as her hand-to-hand combat skills. Spike also has more experience in the field of killing than Kirika, which comes in handy when battle an opponent of about equal skill. But for Kirika to have survived for so long she must have at least some natural instints and luck on her side. I still wager more on experience than luck and instints, so I think Spike will win that bout. With that done, Spike can look for Faye after treating his wounds and help to kill the remaining foe.

finally it's up and running. im so happy *starts crying*

i think spike and faye will win because the battle between faye and Mirielle left Mirielle damaged since she was beaten quite a few times with a wooen coat rack that would of most likely cracked a rib or two. so faye has the advantage there.

the fight between spike and Kirika left kirika with a bulley wound to the arm suppressing her fighting capabilities while spike is hiden in a room which she has to enter in orer to attack him.

both spike and faye have been left in an advantageous situation but of course that can change easily.

mirielle and kirika would mop the floor with them. they are the legendary assassins noir and if that means nothing to you then i don't know what does. kirika alone could probably take them.

So far I have 2 votes for each. SOMEBODY voted and didnt read the rules obviously, because Spike and Faye have 7 votes. So subtract 5 from the total, and what do you get? I expected more votes though. Then again, its only been 1 day so...

My vote goes to Mirielle and Kirika, the legendary NOIR from the days of old. As it stands right now, both have an equal chance of winning. Although Kirika is the better assassin honestly, she has been careless and taken a hit to the arm. However, if you have actually seen NOIR before, you know that a simple bullet wound does not stop Kirika when she is really going at it. She has shown many times over if nothing else because of her impressive kill count (most of those 328 kills were at her hand).

Of course, I dont dismiss Spike's skill either. With a wound in the arm, Kirika is still at a disadvantage. Spike has the cover of darkness right now, and the element of surprise at his side. However, so does Kirika. Spike thinks that Kirika is going to come from the top where he jumped in, but Kirika is going to the actual entrance, which he cannot see because of the corpses and darkness.

With Mirielle and Faye, since they were both the "lesser" of the pairs, they have about the same skill level, so the battle there could go either way. They could kill each other easily, or somebody could make a quick move and take the kill. Who knows? Well I do, but thats beside the point.

Anybody want to debate my points?

No,no you have a point. It just seems to me that if you take into account the damage that Kirika has taken to the arm, which will limit her hand-to-hand combat abilities, and the fact that the arm is now a liability in hiding, that Spike has too many adavntages going for him to not win. But who knows, with Spike and his bad luck, we might just have a turnaround win.

Wow now that I read what i said in the last post it sounded like a challenge.... that is so not me.

Its true, her arm is a disadvantage for sure. If they do happen to get into hand to hand combat (which they will) Spike will have the edge. Of course, I had to give Kirika some sort of handicap because frankly in comparison, Spike's chances of victory would be slim, but not impossible.

Anyway I voted for Mirielle and Kirika

Why? Mirielle is an assasin and has worked for one for a long time and good at it as well. Kirika been killing people since she was what 4-5 years old now if that's not experiance I don't know what is. She's more or less trained to be a killing machine.

Spike has experiance and good at what he does. But as he is a bounty hunter now he doesn't aim to kill his opponents which means he shouldn't try to kill Mirielle and Kirika. Now true I haven't read the post yet so I don't know.
Faye isn't excatly made for killing either, she's more of scamming people out of money and tricking people. If we talk battle ability I would say she's just average and not nearly as good as Mirielle and Kirika or even Spike.

Edit: Ok so they're out to kill them so Spike might get more seriouse but I think this is the first time beyond the movie I've seen a bounty that's dead or alive but it fit the story more so. But I still stand by that Mirielle and Kirika will win. Also does Spike really have it in him to kill a 16 year old girl?
So Diz does my vote count? Also maybe I just missed it but I never got the feeling that they feelt that way for each other ohh well.

Then again I hardly remember that much from Noir since it's been about 2 years or so since I last saw it. Been meening to rewatch it but never come around doing it since I have way to much anime to watch.

I've been thinking to give the miko series you like so much a shot as well. If I find it that is, figured if it's that good then I should at least check it out and see if it's anything I'd like.

Anyway back ontopic

I don't think he can, sure Spike act like a "badass" sometimes and as if he don't care. But I think he's to soft to actually kill Kirika I never got the feel of "killing intend" from Spike if you count out his old days before he became a bounty hunter as well as the guy who's name I forgot about.

Also one more fact I've just thought of "they killed over 328 other assassins" now Spike isn't stupid and I hardly think he'd kill Kirika because she killed those people that were out to kill her. Spike can think abit before he acts, he might try to bring her in but I don't think he'd kill her. After all Spike knows at least something about that kind of life even if wasn't the same thing. I'd think he'd rather spare Kirika from that kind of life and try to lead her of the road she's on.
Ok I admit that sounds abit to soft hearted for Spike but I don't think he'd want her to become someone who only kills.

I don't mind entire episodes spent on character development if I can watch through all of .hack//SIGN I think I should be able to actually watch it. Don't mind girl on girl or guy on guy as long as it's good. Gravitaion was the first guy on guy series I watched and I love it, it's one of my favorite animes so far. True I haven't watched many other guy on guy or girl on girl but Im pretty open minded... at least I think Im open minded. Besides I could use a break from all the shounen anime I've been watching recently. Been looking for abit more drama series or love series etc but haven't really looked that hard.

True maybe he didn't pay attention to the message but that dosen't really mean he knows nothing of it. I'd say that he has the information somewhere in the back of his head. After all he listened enought to understand that there where 2 of them and not 1 or 5 targets. If he payed that much attention then he should have the information that the target's 16 year old girl somewhere in his brain.
Also like you've stated they will go into close combat then even if it's dark he'd be able to make out that it's a small girl so sooner or later he'll find out in some way that he's fighting and trying to kill a young girl.

Ah that is the point. That was my plan. Once he got close and saw that it was a young girl, what would he do then? Would it really be worth the money to take a childs (practically) life?


If you are a guy, AND you watched Gravitation AND you liked it, you are definitely open minded. If you are looking for drama and a good love story that is not shonen then look no further than Kannazuki no Miko. I could also recommend others if you so desire.

If im a guy? I thought you'd know that I am a guy by now. And correction I didn't like Gravitation I loved it. I'll check it out first and see how it is. I alredy have enough shounen anime to keep me occupied for 2 days straight watching. But if I like Kannazuki no Miko I'll ask you right away for more good ones. Either way when I've seen it I'll let you know
That's funny since Im verry aware of the fact that Im a homophobe, no offense I like you no matter what sex your attracted to. But having a creepy uncle that seems to like younger boys is... well you migh imagine, also for some reson I seem to attrac guys... I don't know what it is but I've had about 4-5 guys come on to me. Im not sure wheter to be flattered or worried

Ok ontopic then: Back to Faye and Mirielle, either they'd both shot each other since I don't think either of them would hesitate to shot each other. Unlike Spike and Kirika they would kill each other without a doubt. I'd say Mirielle is more calm and planned then Faye who seems to be way to hotheaded and rash. On the other side that might be to her advantage against Mirielle or it'll just be used against her since it will make her predictable even if Mirielle skills isn't as good as Kirika.

And back to Kirika and Spike if/when they get into close combat the shot wound that Kirika has would slow her down yeah. But like I said I don't think Spike has it in him to fight her seriously or even kill her so that would mean he'd either hold back his power consciously or unconsciously. And that would slow him down I know Kirika isn't one to scream when getting hit and all but if she were to let out some kind of weak scream I think that would distract Spike alot and make him hesitate even more.
