What would you do if you you were immortal

we live to die.
if we can't die, then there's no point of living.

it's the concept of life and death no matter how you look at it

If you become inmortal you´ll become insane, also you will be really ols, since you don´t have eternal youth

Because if that's the case, what will you do if you are trapped in some inescapable place forever? That is worse than dying, nothing is worse than that. Or what if you are in some kind of horrible accident that involves fire but you won't die no matter how badly you get burned. So you get burned over and over and experience horrible pain. It's the very definition of hell, eternal life of suffering, hence the immortality.

If it means immortality as in not dying of old age (like elves), than yeah sure why not. I'd like to experience long life without worrying about getting old. I could remain forever young.

errr wait if you're saying that i'm immortal and don't feel anypain(emotional or physical) then i'll find a place where i won't be found and keep my relation to human far away since there is possibility that they will ask the secret to be immortal while keeping their emotion which is no way and try to hurt or kill because of jealousy but would be useless since i won't die

Oh BTW if anyone is interested in what it'd be like if you became immortal, there is anime about just that.

Ningyo no mori (mermaid's forest) is about humans who become immortals by eating mermaid's flesh. Most humans just die or become horrible mindless monsters when they eat mermaid's flesh, but ones that survive will become immortal and only die if they are beheaded. When they suffer injuries that results in death, they die but revive after losing consciousness.
So they actually have a choice, if they get beheaded, they can die.

hmm id prolly go to sleep for a few hundred years and wake up every decade or so to see whats happening to the world. Either that or become a sort of watcher recording history and events and such Razz

Immortality is awesome, but then again, I would cry my eyes blind because I wouldn't be able to die. Everyone around me would die, but I would still stay alive and live one. That's just a bit too painful.

it depends on the person really. just think. if you were immortal, you'd get to help many people from 2006 and so on. no, i'm not talking about acting like superman and such. i mean you can help people little by little. if there was an accident, you can use your immortality to good use. what's a mere scratch or a stab in the gut if you can just recover from it in a period of time? and if people know that you're immortal and has gone through many experiences, you can stop history to repeat itself. many people will believe you because of your experiences and will follow you(and please i mean it in a good way).

it's the person's selfishness that makes an immortal life sad. one should not think what one loses as time passes by(like death of friends and families), but what one can give to the new generations coming.

Well immortality......

Nice to think about it ... living forever.....

However maybe it may not be my cup of tea.....
I'd probably want a life long enough to do all the things i want to do and see the things i want to see..... live a content life and then pass away peacefully knowing that I have done all i wanted to do...

I would strive to make the perfect world (with me being the ruler of it of course) once Im done with that dunno, explore the universe subduing worlds to my utopian empire.

It will really suck once the universe goes big crunch or big rip and Ill be floating around in nothingness.

I would not want to live forever. It will be too lonely and sad. Rather have a finite life and try to squeeze in as much things as i can

Hmmm...do the normal stuff like normal people. go to school, get a job. Work for until i make a ton of money, then just save it in the bank and live off intrest Laughing

And then i'd travel..

On to the more realistic note, at one point, it'll start to get boring. All the people i grew up knowing will eventually die, and i'll have to make a whole new set of friends, or maybe just their kids..lol.

If all else fails, i'll work my ass off and run for supreme court justice. They're in for life, so i'll have a stable job for sure Wink

and plus after hundreds of years of wisdom, i'm sure the ppl will love me.
