what's wrong with Denmark and the Danish Government?

Well, the danish government has evolved into more or less a bureaucracy. Nothing really happens and the money spent on administration is everrising. Our taxes, rates and dues are much higher than any neighboring country; we pay almost the double price for a car, than they do, but still, our public services are worse than theirs..

The thing I really don't like about the danish population is their fear of change; they are way too conservative. Everytime someone announces just a small change in peoples future way of life, there will come an uproar against it, even though the change is probably for the better people still don't like it.

And the parties running for parliament doesn't do it because they have something, they want to do, which could help the danish population, but are doing it for the prestige. Also the're isn't much of a reason for democracy in Denmark, as they just do what the majority want them to do, and not doing much in helping the different minorities..

Well, I could keep babbling on, but that would be a too long post ^^ But these are the main reasons I don't want to stay in my country for my entire life, it's making me sick to live with those people in power..

Nop, a democracy is supposed to help all the people in the society, and not just the majority. If everything should be after the majority we could just have a referendum, every time someone suggests something. This would be plain wrong, and is why we have the parliament.

Anyways, enough off-topic ^^

haha there should be a separate thread for this discussion. its relevant.
Is the public always well informed enough and intelligent enough to make all the decisions?
Can you be more specific Fenix? Are you thinking about the immigration laws for Muslims? i heard that the murder of Van Gogh's ancestor triggered a huge backlash against Islam in Denmark. what else?
i was under the impression that a country like Denmark would be conservatively progressive perhaps not dissimilar to a country like Australia. hey, your princess is Australian isnt she?

Don't like off-topic, but I should reply to this I guess.

Did a search and found no thread about government discussion. Go ahead and create one, I'll be sure to attend there ^^

I can't be specific about it, 'cause I don't only mean minorities like muslims and so on, I was refering to all kind of minorities. The reason I said this is because before an election, all the parties make so damn many promises to the majority to capture their votes. They therefore neglect the the groups without many voters, which is a big problem, 'cause the current government promised a tax freeze (not to higher taxes) in order to get elected. Now they have to shot down schools, hospitals and so on to find the money..

And I don't believe there's any big hatred to muslims in Denmark (not where I am, anyways). I have some quite good friends who are muslims myself.

Denmark is very slowly developing, as the politicians don't like to try new stuff; it has to be run through in many different contries before we try it out, which can take quite some time. Still, even though some things have proven to be good for the society (like legalising hash), the politicians are afraid to try it here.

Oh, and yeah; our princess is australian (mary I believe her name is). She has just given birth to a prince, by the way..

End of discussion. If we should continue this discussion, make a new thread about it ^^

I would go to France, Avignon in particular. That's where my cousins live, southern France, so it's pretty hot down there. Avignon is a town that is surrounded by city walls erected back when the Pope lived there. But of course there was a conflict of who was the real Pope back then, the one in Rome or the one in Avignon. Nevertheless, the city layout is very beautiful with a town square in front of the Papal palace. heh my uncle owns a Chinese restaurant in one the alleyways near the town square. Yea I would like to migrate to France, visit Paris once again too.

I'd like to go to Japan for the reason just about everyone else wants to. Anime, manga and the rest of the things japan is known for. I've been to korea quite a lot of times since i'm korean, and those who said that korea has fast internet it is very true. i don't know if it's still true but a few year ago it was called the broadband capital of the world. more than half of the population of korea has broadband and it is very cheap because there isn't much fibre optic wiring needed as much since most people live in the cities and close together. korea also has a lot of PC bahngs or pc room so people without computers can still go there and they're really cheap in korea. I place i usually went to an hour was about 75 cents. but that was in a pretty small town. in like seoul it's still pretty cheap though. well i'm on a tangent so back to the question. other than japan i'd like to go to a european country like England, france or Germany. England i heard is pretty gloomy though since it's pretty rainy but it'd be nice to go there because i can speak their language since i'm american ^^. i'dlike to go to france because i'd like to go to the louvre. I'd like to go to germany becase i like their language.
