Sakura-chan, thanks for adding more words. I forgot a few myself.
Let's see...my name is Niel Sumter, but please don't say that name. Please use this name, "Alexiel." I'm a 3rd year student, but I'm only 19 years old. My birthday is August 3rd. I live and study at the college campus. I have an older sister and older brother. I am often alone, but I don't mind much, you know. My hobbies are playing guitar, writing, and watching anime. It's a pleasure to meet everyone. Together, let's become better speakers at Japanese. Myself included ^^; _________________ [IMG:240:120:b0be737b07]http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v195/Alexiel-sama/misuzudies.gif[/img:b0be737b07]

Taibabi, that sentence says something along the lines of: "Today I learned one thing." Ippai is a counter used for objects, like cups, if I remember correctly. It means "one thing" or "one cup."
Tatoeba, "Sumimasen. Mou ippai wain o nonde kudasai."
For example, "Excuse me. May I have one more drink of wine please?"
Also, benkyou[suru] means "[to] study," but it can mean "to learn" sometimes.
You could replace that with saying this:
Watashi wa takusan mono ga naraimashita. I learned alot of things. ^^
Narau [naraimasu] = to learn.
Saa, ima wa boku ga canpusu no ryou no naka de iru. Taibabi-kun mo jibun ga nihongo de shoukaishite kudasaimasen ka. Gambaru. Boku to Sakura-chan ga tetsudareru ^^
Well, right now I am inside my campus dorm room. Taibabi-kun, won't you also introduce yourself in Japanese? Do your best. Myself & Sakura-chan can help you ^^
Some countries that I know of are:
England = Eigo (you were right)
Spain = Supein
Japan = Nihon / Nippon (either works)
America = Amerika
Canada = Kanada
France = Furansu
I'm pretty sure that because other countries are not in the Japanese vocabulary, they would just convert the American way of saying the country into Katakana form. That form is essentially taking the American spelling and replacing it with the Japanese pronounciation system of sounds for each character. _________________ [IMG:240:120:b0be737b07]http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v195/Alexiel-sama/misuzudies.gif[/img:b0be737b07]

Writing in Japanese is difficult after all. Anyway, let me begin by thanking Sakura-chan and Alex-kun's helpful advice.
Hmm...Ok...I'll cut the chase and introduce myself now. Though my real name is "Ming Kit", please call me Skygrasper since I'm more comfortable with that. I'm in the middle of my internship training and going to graduate very soon. Next year, I'll turn 22 years old. I feel so old already.
I live with a family of 4. I love things like listening to music and playing football but my real passion is definitely watching anime. I'll end my self-introduction here, ok? As usual, please correct if there are any mistakes, guys. Have fun! And take care!
p.s. Oh yeah, this are the links to some of the best Japanese learning sites that I know of (though I had posted this a while back in the manga general forum). The best thing is that it's all free for viewing. Not examples, but full-fledged tutorials:
http://www.learn-japanese.info/
Pretty much for beginners. The only drawback is that it's mostly in romanji. Not a good idea to focus on the romanjis if u plan to read the mangas.
Yookoso:
http://www.yookoso.com/
This one is an all round Japanese tutorial site. Particularly good if you've been using the Yookoso textbook.
the Japanese Page:

Visit this forum if you want to ask any translation or grammar questions. The members are particularly helpful and you will get your questions answered within a few hours.

Sakura-chan, are you serious about what you said? No no, you're very kind and sweet for sure. Your japanese speaking is more mpressive. Hehe. I can't speak Japanese that well. Alright, I'll answer your questions. I'm not sad, so don't worry. Yeah, I'm alone often. I live in my dorm room, so I'm alone often. I am studying a variety of things. But right now, I greatly dislike my classes. I haven't learned anything. Only my Japense class I like, find fun, and interesting. Hehe "Do I have a girlfriend" you said. Well, I don't have a girlfriend. It's alright though. I'm lonely sometimes. But, that's normal. I would like to have one, but it's not important. Umm...there are alot of questions aren't there? Hehe. Anyway, I work a part-time job. It's an easy job and it's good pay, hehe. I love acoustic guitar, but I listen to a variety of music. J-rock & J-pop are what I like the most. I also like classical and techno. My favorite singer is KOTOKO. She's wonderful!
Well then, Sakura-chan, won't you tell me about yourself? ^^ _________________ [IMG:240:120:b0be737b07]http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v195/Alexiel-sama/misuzudies.gif[/img:b0be737b07]

Is it 楊樹 (in mandarin)? In japanese I think that's pronounced as youju
but if it's just 楊 (willow), it's pronounced as yanagi. Though I don't know the difference between willow and poplar trees. Post ur chinese name, it might be clearer to decipher ur name.

No problem, CGY ^^ I'm glad you like it.
About your last name though, I've never heard of the word "poplar." Did you mean "popular?" If you did, the japanese word for it is "yuumei (郵名)" which means famous. _________________ [IMG:240:120:b0be737b07]http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v195/Alexiel-sama/misuzudies.gif[/img:b0be737b07]
