the only villian i heard of killing a hero/sidekick
Thats probably because most superheroes don't have sidekicks. Its like something that slows them down and they constantly have to save them. In batmans case it was a good thing to have a sidekick because he's only human and needed some help sometimes.
---Joker was still an awful villain in general. If he were put up to some other villain that had money, he'd lose. Just like Joker vs Kingpin or Joker vs Lex Luthur.
dude, joker is THE supervillain!!! and youre totally underestimating batman!! batman is able to stand up to superman, just so you know.
besides, the joker HAS been put up against a lex luthor and the joker actually won, the joker killed him. lex luthor is still alive though, the plot is not as simple as that (if you STILL want to know though, check on "INFINITE CRISIS" and "VILLAINS UNITED" two recent stories published by DC comics, or you could just ask).
even superman reckons the joker is a huge threat.
and the joker has not only killed jason todd (robin II) but also left batgirl I paraplejic and killed commisioner gordons wife, and the whole royal flush gang (villains from superman); in the "KINGDOM COME" storyline he also killed lois lane, perry white and jimmy olsen, along with 10 more ppl from the daily planet staff. the joker is a fine villain.
as for my favorite villain id have to say parallax, tied with the scarecrow.
the joker is wickedly cool too, but not my total favorite.
magneto is cool, but not the coolest besides, i dont think of him as a villain. from marvel comics id pick mystique (whos not that much of a villain either), but i dont really like marvel comics.
edit: i forgot about zoom, another kickass supervillain.

thats the joker for you
zoom would be the yellow guy who looks like the flash
that pic was just so youd know what i was talking about, but for the sake of telling here are the other guys:
the guy flying on a purple outfit is doctor polaris (dc's magneto), doctor light (on first plane) cheetah, deathstroke the terminator (pointing with a gun), black adam, sinestro (the guy with a yellow aura), the psycho pirate (in a red outfit, evenly cool as deathstroke), and bizarro.
i found no decent pic of parallax so i wont be posting any. i hope i didnt go out the roof with this post (a bit late maybe...-__-) _________________ Go to a restaurant and order a chicken and an egg. See wich comes first.

Joker was a kick ass villain, no other villain looked as crazy as him.
oh yeah!!! joker is awesome! i love the way he laughs in the animated series of batman . I would pick Dante and the homunculuses from FMA because they're cool, cold, evil, and cruel.

For my favorite comic book villian, its very close between Carnage (Spider-man) and Apocolypse (X-men). Both are very powerful. Carnage is a total lunatic who kills just for the fun of it. Apocolypse is a super-mutant with immortality who is trying to rebuild the world in his image. I also like Mr. Freeze (Batman) because of his freeze-gun and his tragic back-story.
As for videogames, its another close one between Ganon/Ganondorf (Legend of Zelda), Sephiroth (FF VII), or Xemnas (Kingdom Hearts II), all for pretty much the same reason. I'm drawn to villians with who have a combination of power and intelligence, namely the ability to manipulate others into doing their will. _________________ [IMG:500:100:5f9d323c6a]http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v439/spender/Witchbladebanner3.jpg[/img:5f9d323c6a]
If you're out there, I'll find you.
Without a doubt, the Brain from Pinky and the Brain.
How many supervillians are main characters huh? Not that many!! Certainly none with a goal as fine as "try and take over the world"! The guy (or mouse, if you prefer) even succeeded once, but decided his subjects are too dumb to be worthwhile!
