I've been wondering about this thing called "Stress".
Is it a sickness? Mental Sickness?
What is it's syntom? I mean... when you're under stress... what side effect will you feel? How do you identify whether you're under "stress" or not?
Can anyone who frequently experience stress and knowledgable in it help in elaborating? _________________ [img:800:198:5c85a10b1b]http://img146.imageshack.us/img146/1347/feenasighk3.jpg[/img:5c85a10b1b] |

Stress? It's sort of like a natural instinct towards pressure... You release Adrenaline under stress and that makes you alert and tense.
It's perfectly natural and everybody experiences in one form or another.. _________________ [img:309:200:9b3695521e]http://img69.imageshack.us/img69/8583/dobedobedojs0.jpg[/img:9b3695521e] |

| Stress is pretty much a body's reaction to situations that involve a lot of pressure. Stuff like taking a test or Playing an instrument in front of a big group of people. |

You get shaky, restless, can't think clearly... if the stress continues for too long you'll get extremely tired but can't sleep, headache, stomach ache, emotional unstable... in short, your brain gets messed with big time. The problem with stress is that it's a good thing when in extreme situations because you get faster, less sensitive to pain etc., but if you have it constantly it may change your whole personality and make you unhappy.
So always try to balance your life.
If you want stress, take driving lessons (or remember your first one). You'll instantly know what stress is. |

On going stress can be very tirering both phisicly and mentaly. My advice if anybody is realy stressed, try a sport or swearing out loud, trust me it can help.
If you'r the get angry stressed kinda person, then its always handy to have some sort of junk to destroy/oblitorate, so that you dont break anything valuble and regret it later on. |

| I believe stress occurs when you become frustrated and is probably the main focus of "stress". When you are "stressed out" you appear to be tiresome and easily swayed emotionally. You might also physically look miserable or tired and you tend to get angry easily. |

"Stress" for me happens when you are doing ordinary things, but just add in outside pressure like deadlines, limited time frame, limited resourced, high expectation, etc.
It happens everytime, anytime, but the intensity differs depending on the things that you do and also how the pressure was inflicted on you, be it in physically, mentally or spiritually. Some amount of stress are OK and even good for you, but some heavy stress may lead to depression, fatigue and exhaustion. _________________

Stress isn't necessarily a bad thing you know......And it doesn't always make you feel depressed or frustrated......
I feel stress at the beginning of the 100m dash...But its a good kinda stress...The kind that makes you feel tingly all over. Gives you superhuman powers too. _________________ [img:309:200:9b3695521e]http://img69.imageshack.us/img69/8583/dobedobedojs0.jpg[/img:9b3695521e] |

Like many, stress is more like awareness. A situation where you lose/lack control tends to produce stress. Asking someone out, driving in bad weather, lost in the forest, etc.
That said, there's good stress, bad stress. |

Ahh~ So I think I'm under stress... well I never know what is a stress or do I even know whether I'm under stress or not. When I'm taking the major exam last 2 years ago I still don't really understand what is stress... nor do I recall any stress syntoms.
Well I do having problem thinking straight during examination today... It does took me hours to fall to sleep everynight... Constantly having headache but it kinda goes away when I'm playing in the arcade... Yeah... I seems to get major stomach ache before entering the exam hall... I do end up querrelling with my mom over small matter yesterday...
Strangely... this never happened to me before... why now? Why only it starts 3 days before my exam? I thought stress usually comes earlier? For someone who never know what is stress like me why now??
Wherever I work is fine with me so I never know what is work stress either... but is just recently... erm... about last friday night... I got a major headache after returning home from my study group which end up me drench thanks to the heavy downpour.
I though I was sick and thats why I got a headache but strangely... it keeps coming and going and coming and going. Sometimes I felt it and sometimes I don't.
The pain is between my eyes on my forehead. My friend says that this could be an examination stress which I'm taking currently. My exam begins last monday but before last friday, I don't have such massive headache before accept when I caught a fever that is.
Well... this might be my first time having stress headache in my 19 years of living. I dunno how to tackle this so I just take 2 pills of Paracetamol to relieve myself... but it just take sometime before it attacks again.
Strangely enough I don't feel it during examination but only felt it AFTER the exam...
How do you guys usually cope with stress? _________________ [img:800:198:5c85a10b1b]http://img146.imageshack.us/img146/1347/feenasighk3.jpg[/img:5c85a10b1b] |

What is stress? It's something you don't want.
For me, I guess it's feelings of anxiety, pressure and the inability to accomplish something. Usually from blocks. eg. Writers block, artists block etc...
I deal with it by just letting it out...like i'd just press hard on paper and scribble till i'm satisfied....... o.o;; |

Stress is a cumulative thing.... it slowly builds up from the situations you go through.... be it in school, home; everywhere!!
Yours is exam stress.... I think you're feeling it either because you're afraid of not knowing how to answer in the exams, or just simply the fear of failing.
Probably could be caused by cramming tooo much a few days before the examination....
Or it could be because of your personality... maybe because you're very pessimistic? You worry... and this builds up stress...
Best way to deal with examination stress is.
Review daily... constantly......
Don't mug on the day of the exam... at least finish studying a day before to let yourself be relaxed....
Well, there are other ways... but I'm lazy to list them out...
But the best way is to talk to someone about what you're going through.... and I don't mean writing such a topic on a forum like this....
VERBALLY talk... it helps... really helps....
Though I never needed it though XD
What made me stressed in exams was not knowing the answers... but I just thought, "Argh, if I can't answer, don't answer. Besides, if I fail the exam, it's not the end of the world for me."
Well, that was my mindset.... and is still my mindset.... and it helped me to relax a lot more... _________________
