Anyone play XENOGEARS? Not XENOSAGA!

Did a search and couldn't find a topic on Xenogears... only on Xenosaga. Please mods don't get mad if there was once a topic like this before. <.<;

Well, it came out for the first Playstation, and was the first RPG game I fell in love with. At the time, there was no other RPG that allowed me to pilot huge mechs, called Gears, and battle in them. Also, it had beautifully done anime cut scenes.

At first, the storyline was a bit confusing, but you realize there are a lot of bible and religious references in the game, kinda like Evangelion.

I thought the battle system was excellent, classic turn based RPG. The Death Blow mechanics were just too cool, on foot and on Gear.

I haven't played this game in a while, since it came out a LONG time ago... but would like to discuss on this game. I'm also trying to look for a new copy, since mine broke. x.X; Would like to definitely replay it for it's sheer awesome and gameplay factor.

Well there should be. It's a really great game. One of my favorites in fact. Specially the story, which is, as far as I know, highly original. It can get hard sometimes though. One thing I hate about it though is that it was too good that in playing xenosaga, its prequel of sorts, I was sorely disappointed.

I actually find the game somewhat hard at first but I was able to adapt to it. The Gears are very great mechs, it uses fuel for every move which make every action very valuable. the names of the characters are quite unique too...like Elhaym van Houten(she's very cute too!), Billy Lee black (I'm not sure if I'm correct about the name) and many more. Not many people know that the game even exists...since it was released by Squaresoft(the master of all RPGs) on 1998 on the original Playstation not the redesigned PS1.

the last time I played it I was already at the last area...and the name of the save was...I think it was "first and Last". where you battle enemies called Seraphic Angels...thay really a pain, and I already got lost in the maze so i stopped playing it but I still got the game with me all this years.

if you want a new copy of the game...either go amazon.com or the obvious...ebay.

I would not try ebay though. THe cheapest copy when I last checked was around 50 bucks. This was a long time ago though.

Xenogears is the epitome of RPGs. Not only is it the greatest RPG of all time, it is, IMO, the greatest VIDEO GAME of all time. Xenogears has it all. Great graphics(for its day), a story that no other RPG can compare to, 60+hours of gameplay, an innovative battle system, and lest i forget, ANIME CUTSCENES!!!!! I love to talk about Xenogears, so who ever wants to talk about it can talk to me, (whenever I am on, which is not often anymore)

BTW my favorite character is the antitype. If you can tell me who that is I will give you a cookie.

this game is wonderful
and the storyline is also wonderful
for anybody who never play this game and don't understand can check on gameFAQS.com
this game have a very deep story which basically consist of how about if the god / the ultimate entity has been controling us and required destruction at the end of the world
but there is alpha there is omega
if god is omega (the end) then there is alpha
the main character is some sort of alpha here and you will guide his way to find out about who he is, what he is destined to be, who he is destinde to be, and who will be his final nemesis or even quasi-nemesis ^^

I got the game, pretty good but some chars are not a good choice for party, also couldnt beat it, anyone knows how to pass the part when you are supoused to get a room with 4 pilars, before you figth the rat-guy (dont remember his name) in the second disc, I believe.

I finished it one now i am playing again and this game is very good
My favoritechars are : Citan and Emeralda and Id - but you cant have him in your team

My favorite characters were Fei/Id (since they're the same person after all), Elly, Citan, Bart, Sigard and Billy. They were all too cool, and I really fell for their characters.

My battle lineup was: Fei, Citan, Billy; Fei, Billy, Rico; Fei, Bart, Elly; or Fei, Citan and Bart.

i've played it, still on the first disk though. Elly kind of looks like Kos-Mos from episode I Even though they say it was episode 7, does that mean that they're eventually going through with 4-6?

Citan is surely the best character!!

My battle chars are Citan Uzuki, Fei fong wong, and Bartholemew Fatima!
they rocks... rico sucks... billy.. he's not bad, but not as good as htose 3, elly... to bad she'll go away!

this game is definely better than xenosaga! i love this game..
