Well I seem to be having some very bad luck lately.
This friday during coffee break a bunch of co-workers and I were joking around about the newspaper on how could a bus driver run over a 78 year old lady and not know that it happened. One of the freak accidents that happened recently here.
Well on the way home on my bus (if anyone is from Vancouver, CA then its you'll know the express buses from downtown to Richmond), I was kinda sleepy not paying attention and suddenly our bus driver slams on the brakes, tries to swerve and just pounds the horn.
Its a full bus so there are lots of people standing and they're all falling over eachother and total chaos. The bus actually screeches to a halt but we hear a big boom. Everyone's like wtf? Did we hit a car?
I look outside and everyone on the sidewalk is running toward the front of our bus, and then word comes down finally that we hit a pedistrian. We sat around in the bus for a while before everyone started to get out to take a look or try to take another bus.
Anyways, apparently what happened was this guy was playing around with his dog and dropped the ball into the street. He went out into the street to pick it up but didn't see our bus coming down the street. Yep, he walked out into the street in front of a moving bus at the last second before anyone could react. I dunno how he managed to miss such a large object but his head hit the bus windshield and he went flying couple feet to the pavement. Luckily the bus driver stopped in time and didn't run him over.
I got some pictures on my cellphone cam but I dunno how to transfer them to my comp but I took some snaps with the webcam.
The type of bus I was travelling in. (taken from translink website)
Outside the bus on the sidewalk, very blurly =( But if you can make out the bus on the left side and people all over the sidewalk looking to the front of the bus. The bright lights are the several firetrucks, ambulances and police cars that came to the scene.
Police car... and ambulance (can't see the ambulance cuz its lights are flashing).
The front windshield of the bus. See all the white area? Those are cracks where the guy impacted with the bus.
Arrow shows where he got hit by the bus (taken from translink website). I think he was bending over to pick up the ball when he got hit.
Anyways, the most amazing thing is the man gets up under this own strength and walks to the ambulances and with customary Canadian politeness says "sorry about your window" to the shocked bus driver.. haha.
He got off pretty lucky with what I could see was only a few cuts and bruises.
-----------------------
Then on saturday, on my way to school. I'm waiting at the traffic intersection for the light to turn green for us. In the intersection there's a car waiting to turn left, the light turns yellow so he prepares to go. The car suddenly stops and then I see another car barrel through the intersection running the late yellow or red light.
This other car tries to stop but its going way too fast and smashes into the guy trying to turn left. The left turning car spins around and then comes to a erie stop. The light turns green for me as this crash happens, not sure what to do and being at the head of all the cars behind me... we drive around the wreckage and I call 911.
But needing having an important study session, we keep driving off to school =P
But witnessing two accidents in two straight days is kinda creepy. I'll see what happens on monday =) |

bah, i haven't seen anything that serious but about two or three weeks ago, while driving back home three fender benders happened right in front of me, not behind me, not to my side, but the first two cars right in front of me o_O then about a week ago i've seen a suv smash back of the cop car on a high way ^_^
but the bad weekend thing. everything has been going shitty for me the whole week, mostly with work too. yesterday i've spent 6 hours in a crawl space under a house (about 2 feet tall) trying to fix a leak, and the f'ing thing still leaks, now because the house belongs to my friend i feel really bad about it, now tommorow after school i will have to go under again and replace 3 f'ing pipes cause everything is so messed up down there T_T but on the other hand i have only one day of school this week ^__^ and it all ends in about 2-3 more weeks _________________ [img:387:120:36cb7a5440]http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v98/idjota/BL.jpg[/img:36cb7a5440] |

Kai, I experienced my bad weekend too. I was trying to open a canned drink when it just suddenly slipped my hand and hit my big toe.
I was literally in pain for a few minutes and just managed to walk to my church. Today, I found out that it may have risked of getting fractured, but later the doctor dismissed that fact and they bore a hole through my nail to let the blood flow out. Even till now, it still flows out..... I wonder when it will subsides though. It has been leaking for the past 4 hours.... _________________

Well, mine is rather unfortunate too. But it doesn't involve death, blood and violence. It's kinda subtle with devastating effects.
...........................
My internet connection got cut.
Now I use my net at school. Trying to squeeze in the 5 minutes between classes to write this one. Wahh... I already reported it, but I don't know when it'll be back.
I spent the whole weekend at home staring at my PC wishing for my modem to light up..... _________________ EX-mod |

Oh man, that sucks.
The nail is painful, I've smashed my finger nails before. Someone slammed the car door on my fingers and they had to drain the blood from under the finger nail... ughhh.
and living without internet.... just doesn't happen. I'm way too connected to the net. Addicted is what I would say it is.
I guess my weekend is more witnessing bad things happening to others rather than myself which is better... somewhat |

Holy crap, I don't think I've ever witnessed even ONE vehicle accident. I've heard the screeeeeeeacccchh - POW, but never saw it with my own two eyes. Those images look really REALLY blurry. Was this at night? I can't make out anything, even when you label things. It looks like the view of an inebriated individual. Kaiser... were you drunk? All this really didn't happen right?
Damn inertia, I topple over on the bus all the time. I'm always the one standing since I claim I "can handle it". But it doesn't help when you're wearing heely's. (not heels, heely's). |

vehicle accidents with people?!?!?!?!
meh
closest thing to that is my uncle getting in a collision with a bmw...
but still the story kinda seems unlikely... _________________ Mortified: To cause or to experience shame, humiliation, or wounded pride.

Wow ^^;
I wonder how you can even goes on a bus with such shoes?? There are rollers below.
Well, the doctor gave me a scare that there might be a fracture inside my toe. I fear surgery, but in the end, go for an X-Ray and luckily, there is not fracture. The doctor proceeds on to draining the blood by boring a hole through my toe nail and the blood oozes out like mad since I have quite a high blood pressure.
Felt good after that, but found out the pain is still there in the evening. Then I found out one part of the skin just beside my toenail kept the blood inside so I made a painful, but simple procedure by using a nail clipper and a needle and sterilize both by burning both of them using a lighter and carefully make an incision by piercing the needle into the flesh and then clip off the rest of the skin so that it can make an opening. Blood started to ooze out like mad and I just cover the wound with a bandage to prevent coagulation of the blood. After that, I went to sleep and the next morning, it is not so painful anymore. Painful procedure alrite, but well, worth the effort =) _________________
