OMG OMG!! Only 3 more days till it's realeased in the UK! I can't wait! I've had my copy on pre-order for months =) This should definatly keep me going until the realease of Half life 2!!!!
Has anyone here already got Doom 3? (Came out in N.America on the 3rd).

Got it. Installed it.

My computer lags when it runs on lowest quality Razz

but graphics are sweet.

I have one phrase to summarize this game:

Orgasm of terror.

I hate it when the lights just dim out and I have to switch to my flashlight with no gun. (Come ON, I'm in a facility where they design the latest weapons and they dont' even build in flashlights?!?!)
All that blood splattered on the ground, on the wallas and ceiling make me feel glad I'm at home.

Prime moment: I thought I saw someone that wasn't a zombie and stuff. He was standing at one of the control panels, so I run up. He had no head. >_<

Hey look for something called the duck tape mod it allows you to put the flash light on the gun.

Not sure but i bet there will be but the duck tape mod was all i knew about oh and a coop mod some where out there.

There're even mods for mods
IE- hello kitty mod. it turns the light into a hello kitty face projection :p it's cute

Whoo hooo I should get it tomorrow! (I hope) Now I really can't wait to play it! I've seen alot of people moaning about the darkness in the game... is it really THAT bad?
I get what people are sying though... it's the future and none of the guns a fash lights attached to them... that's just dumb Razz

eheheh. it's really just supposed to make the game fun and scary with having to keep changing from flashlight to gun, cause there's the thing how they enjoy making you peek around corners with only a flashlight (which is why you can beat crap outta the monsters using only your flashlight.. I found out that that thing's one powerful bludgeoning weapon)

I just really miss the ability to actually see AND shoot at the same time.. instead of either see, or not see and be able to shoot. cause then I'm just relying on where the sounds are coming from, red eyes and my little circle on the screen to turn red. (and by that time my health falls to 50/30/20/ohyoudiedsucker!)

I think the parts that scares me the most is when you're running through a room, then suddenly the lights go out, and you hear that evil laughter and then a TON of moaning and footsteps headed your way. then you look down the hallway that was long and empty and just see a plethora of red eyes.
(chaingun action)

but.. after a while it gets to the point where you can pretty much guess what's around the next corner.

Yeah but that pretty much happens with every FPS... after a while you know where enemies are going to spawn ect... and especially with ID software games, there all the same:

Doom: Kill enemies from hell
Doom 2: Kill enemies from hell
Quake: Kill alien mosters
Quake 2: Kill alien monsters

2004 is really the yaer of the FPS though with games like Theif 3 and UT2004 already out and Doom 3, Halo 2 and Half life 2 comming out FPS fans are gona have many games to choose from! (But if their like me they'll only be able to get one at a time cause we're poor Razz

)

eheheh. HL2 and Halo2 are my primary choices.

I just discovered a delightful treat in doom3.

In the alpha bay labs 3 or whatnot, there's that giant trash disposal... I sat there for the longest time picking up the barrels (and the dead scientist haha) and dumping them in the incinerator.

The people are complaining about the darkness becuase they arnt playing it in a dark room. From what Ive read you need to play it in a completely dark room.

room lightning doesn't do much for me. (plus, I'm on an lcd flatscreen, so it's not like light reflecting off glass into my eyes)

and completely dark room? That'll give me nightmares. especially if my sister sneaks in (she's gotten good) and takes one of my swords and attacks me.

I'll scream like a girl.
