Usually the teacher doesn't do that unless you're under some illegal abuse contract |

I took kungfu for a year everyday and my teacher kicked our asses at least once a week. I quit because it was costing too much and I was busy with other things.
I miss our instructor though, even though it was so hard to communicate with him since he speaks mandarin and I speak cantonese. He is was a smoker and an alcoholic. All those funny times he would come and teach with a hangover. I could also see that he would start running out of breath more often because of all the smoke he would do. Despite this, I have yet so see someone with such amazing kicks. |

| hmmm ive noticed that not that many people take interest in wushu ... is there a main reason?? Martial arts are fun when done properly and responsibly. its a great excercise and it looks really cool when you "show off" a couple of different forms ^__^ kind of like dancing in a way if you tink of it. |

I practiced tae-kwon-do, but I guess it all got screwed by bad timing. I started, and then moved out of my city, picked ot up again as an school activity... and then switched schools. Picked it up again as a school activity and them moved back to my hometown, whaere I just got sick of the whole thing because the ons-and-offs resulted in no progress in three years. So now I don't do any kind of martial arts. But I suppose I could beat someone up with a squash racket now if I needed to... _________________

I really don't see the point in learning a martial art. If your better at fighting than the other guy, then you win. That is all that there is too it for me. _________________ blah |

| I've take Judo in the past, but I'm not actively practicing any longer. My son is looking to take a martial art, but we don't have a very good selection of styles to choose from where we live. |

burp>but usually just fist fighting won't get you anywhere. it wastes your energy whne you just hit randomly. martial arts can increase your stamina and speed. reaction is very important.
that's why i like jacki chan very much. in his movies, he doesn't follow a pattern but just goes with the flow. and i like it whne he uses objects that are lying around to protect himself.
i loved his movie drunken master. you should watch it. |

| I learn tae-kwon-do until green belt only when I was in primary school as a co-curriculum. Once I reach secondary school, I quit as it is useless. When I started learning tae-kwon-do, I was bullied even more compare with without learning tae-kwon-do. |

Then surely your sensei/instructor has violated many rules on jobs. Not only did he use abuse but he came to work hungover. Anyway, thats none of my business.
Regarding the topic: Yes, i've learned Traditional Karate before when I was around grade 5, but I didn't go after about a month because it was too time consuming and I got into video games around that time. I had been promoted to Orange Belt before I quit and I believe I learned a lot for that short time span I practiced. |

| I've been training in a really old japanese style of karate for about a year now. I guess you can't call it training though since I usually only make class about once a month. oh well, I advanced to blue belt. My teacher is out of this world amazing. his style is not offensive. basically pary and disable. I guess he is the number one in japan for this style and he is faaast and powerful. I would be scared to fight him cause I know he could kill me. |

Actually never. I've always wanted to learn though. I've heard it's good self-disipline and you learn how to take care of yourself better. _________________ Live to be the best, to be the best - be yourself.
