I prefer endings that don't tie everything up. It's more realistic that way.
This anime could, and should, have been a lot better than it was. They just spent too much time talking... even in the fight scenes. All the episodes tended to drag, as the storytelling got bogged down.
I think I'd rather have a remake of this than a sequel. Perhaps one done by KyoAni...
Was anyone else disturbed by how much Shiro's face looked like a skull on numerous occasions? Like a Michael Jackson case of plastic surgery gone wrong... |

I've just finish watching fate/stay night a few days ago and I decided that it was a good anime to watch.
Nevertheless, I feel that FSN have the potential to become a better show as there are many areas which can be work on. Such as romance between shirou and saber. Making the fighting scene to have more fights instead of talk...
The ending was good. But I just don't understand why did saber has to die. |

the Ending Was Awesome!!!!
Spoiler:
The reason why saber/Arthur want the holy grail so bad is because during her time in her own world she never found it. Which will bring peace. luckily saber was summoned to be apart of the game to fight for the holy grail. She failed on her first attempt. As the story goes on we get to see a glimpse of her past. She wants to change the order of the kings. The reason is because when she went on a journey she left her son or daughter in this case in charge of her throne. She was betrayed by her daughter. Thats why when saber killed the knight with her lance and cut open her helmet she said father.
So you can say that the Holy Grail was destined to be hers'. |

Not a spoiler, because it's partially wrong.
She wanted the grail to re-do the selection of the king so she wouldn't be chosen; King arthur participated/caused several wars in which tons of people died (including Mordred) and created lots of chaos in the country. She hated that and wanted to re-do the selection to avoid all that. You got that much right, but the grail was not "destined" to be hers; the grail has no destiny. When arthur first sought the grail during her lifetime (not as a servent) the grai was not something to fulfill people's wishes. The "one" supposed to do that is The Grail of the War.

Simple: Everyone dies. Immortality does not exist. But she was finally able to die in peace. |

In the series is gonna be hers' no matter what because that's how its going to be. To be more precise "Galahad" was the one who found the Holy Grail and brought peace back to the land.
Saber wants the Grail back to change everything that had happened when she was still king because she had created numerous sin. Because of one of her adulterous sin Mordred emerged. Arthur was screwed back and forth in his life. He couldn't take it when his own son betrayed him out of his love. They fought together in one of the most bloodiest battle. Arther lost everything almost all of his Knight of the Round table only 2 or 3 was left. One of the last know was Bedevere The one you can say threw Excalibur in the lake. |

But... she never got it! if anything, the grail was destined NOT to be hers; because she couldn't get it while alive and because of what it turned out to be when she was a servant. |

Uh, but didn't it turn out that the Holy Grail didn't grant wishes but only possessed the power to destroy?
and that's why Kiritsugu (Saber's previous master and Shirou's adopted father) ordered Saber to destroy the Grail using his command seal.

Yeah, that's right. That's why she never got it. Shirou "summoned" her not because of her strong desire for the grail, but because he had her scabbard. Desire for the grail has little to do with summons. |

Meh, I didn't mind the whole talking. It made the story flow a lot smoother than if they let you make your own conclusions. Actually, I think I would've missed a lot if they didn't have the talking. But I must agree, it was a bit of a nuissance when you were trying to watch a fight and all of a sudden it'd cut to another scene where someone else was talking. Still though, it is so COOL that
Shirou was Archer. Archer ftw.
