Typical anime love interest characters

You know how cliched some romance or harem type anime characters are like? It seems like they always have same type of characters and personalities they recycle over and over.
Let's list some that we can think of. Pretend you are a manga author writing a harem type or just shounen oriented romance/comedy manga.

- A childhood friend you haven't seen in a long time, but appears in your life suddenly (usually during high school)
- Non-blood related sister... (it's so convinient isn't it?)
- A very uptight attitude girl who seems very mature but is actually very shy (Usually wears glasses?)
- One just very very shy girl, who's always afraid to approach the main character(probably some pathetic male protagonist) but is in love with him
- One really energetic girl (usually older) that likes drinking alot
- A girl with very bizarre interests and personality (maybe occult maniac)
- One really really clumsy girl with very bad luck constantly falls down

Lets not forget my favorite, what I like to refer to as the "Inuyasha-Kagome" type relationship.

A very stubborn and pushy girl meets with a very stubborn and arrogant guy. The two fight alot, but as they start spending more time together, they start to like each other. Its all so obvious to everyone around them, but the two refuse to admit it, and they do have a few moments (usually when the two are alone or one of them is in danger), but they continue to fight all the time over the most simple of matters, and will never actually apologize to each other in the open. They have their differences, but it is mainly the stubborn pride that each possesses that causes them to continue fighting, and the two really dont like it when they fight/ when they have to be apart. Also, the guy will often get jealous very easily whenever he feels that someone is trying to win the heart of the girl for himself.

Then we can take a look at their counterparts, in the "Miroku-Sango" type relationship.

A flirtatous male character meets with a strong female character. They start off as simple friends, with the female character just barely able to tolerate the womanizing characteristics of the male character. Like the "Inuyasha-Kagome" relationship, they do have their moments where we can see that they are very close to each other, but still, they, or at least the female character, can never fully admit to their feelings. The flirty male character will often try to woe the female as he would any other female, which irritates the female, and often leads to much pain for the male (yet he never learns). However, we also see that the male has a great deal of respect for the female. The female also gets very jealous whenever the male goes around trying to flirt with other women, but, of course, refuses to admit it.

PS: If it seems like I hate Inuyasha, I dont. Its one of my favorites. But you cant deny the clichés that have been presented to you.

Kagome and Inuyasha always reminded me of Ranma and Akane's relationship. Those two pairs are exact same copy. Laughing

But Ranma's gender changing antics were more interesting than Inuyasha's relationship.

You can also have the type where the girl simply loves to bash the guy senseless for some reason or none at all. Laughing

Think Kaname Chidori & Sagara Sousuke, Naru Narusegawa & Keitaro Urashima. Smile

haha..i like ranma and akane relationship its kinda funny. couple who always fight but they loved each other...

also i like the miaka and tamahome relationship..
two strange person met then the girl in distress the guy rescues the girl, then the man swore to protect the girl at all cost..the girl falls 1st, the guy dosent admit that he's in love..sooner he finally admits that he loves the girls very much..

mostly in some animes have that relationship..

nah what i don't like about certain romance animes is that they make the guy appear as a loser,but yet he gets all the girls and beautiful ones too..those really gets on my nerves..but sometimes on the road i do see terribly looking man with very pretty girlfriends.. Laughing

I once saw an anime about a father falling in love with her dad. In the end the dad went to jail and his daughter fell in love in got married to rich guy.Love can be so cruel Crying or Very sad

Lol i like the whole Midori no Hibi senario, where the main character's a delinquent and all the girls, actually 'everyone' are afraid him, so he gets rejected 20 times, but then there's always that shy girl that has seen his kind side and has a crush on him...but then suddenly becomes his right hand.... Laughing

similar cases i s'pose are Pretty Face (a manga bet hey...) and Slam Dunk

Formula: Random boy meet random girl (idoit) + random act of kindness + plot twists + random rivals = girl and boy eventually get together
