I don't think this is live footage. I'm pretty sure the person just took different shots and synchronized it with music. But it's still fun.

oh...this video; if you ask me, someone must've been really bored just to do something like this...either that or the person's just too full of a christmas spirit, one involved with christmas lights

I saw this guy on CTV news not long after this thread. He said he spent over $15,000 on those. I think he's canadian because it was on CTV news.

$15, 000 on the lights? They didn't look like they cost that much. Must be something else I'm missing, unless the music and the choreography were really programmed into the lights and weren't edited to look like they were.

i heard he was asked to shut it down, due to a growing crowd, and apparently it caused a traffic accident because drivers were too busy watching the lights instead of where they were driving.

They were programed, he has a huge switch board in his garage just for the lights and music.

Yeah, I gleaned what information I wanted about it from here:

http://www.snopes.com/photos/arts/xmaslights.asp

I even read somewhere that the Trans-Siberian Orchestra flew him down for one of their concerts. Lots of fun.

that's where the music's from? an orchestra? huh...always thought it was the author of the video who just remixed a bunch of music and created something entirely new for the lights

I remember seing this on tv earlier. My dad told me that the guy who made that had all of the lights hookeed up to a computer, and had a program that made certain lights go on for cerain tunes, like one of those picture things on windows media player when you are playing a music only file.
