POLL: When scanlated manga gets licensed, do you buy it?

I only buy the liscensed version if the translation is of a good quality. It has to be at least on par with the translations in the fansubs, and it can't be butchered with the names or themes going on. If a group of people translated for the scanslations for free, than a company that is paying people to do it better do a crack up job. That being saud, most of the stuff I've seen lately has been done pretty well, so I buy them Razz

P.S. They have to use a semi-normal font. Maybe its a twinge of OCD, but I hate reading messy fonts.

I agree. I can't stand poorly translated manga. A lot of the time, though, I'll take the easy street and not buy it. Things are more up to date when you get them scanlated, too.

yes, I buy anime and manga that gets licened I have bougth Death Note and also I's. Even though that I have already read it I want to own it and be able to re-read it.

being a typical cheap person, i wouldnt buy manga books. there will always be a place to get them free online, despite the liscensing

It's great to support the manga and all, but I'll only support it if it's of good quality. It would be unfun to read through a poorly translated manga. (curse me for being such a grammar freak x_x)

I don't completely agree with any of the options above. But what suits my opinion most is "only if the manga is well translated". That means != Viz (no Viz), haha.

To me, I only buy the licensed manga (if I have read the scanlations) is if the manga series itself was good. Then there's the money issue...

Money is always an issue for us. If i had the cashflow, i probably would get the series that i most liked. If The licensed version was similar to the scanlated versions, then i would probably buy it. of course depending if i had money.
