Is it just me, or do 9 out of 10 people spell the names of characters and game names and stuff wrong? Honestly learn to spell, the incorrect spelling is like a disgrace lol. _________________ Just 1 minute...were you seeing a dream? |

Don't worry, it just makes people like us seem smarter.
I always make sure my spellings are correct, even the most obscure words I can think of. I have webster dictionary site and Wikipedia in my bookmark on top of the list. _________________ [IMG:258:200]http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v435/ypark/sigs/3fsn.png[/img] |

Cool, I'm not the only spelling Nazi around here.
If you're talking about anime characters and characters from games that originated from Japan, I can see why they would have "spelling" errors. There are a large number of sounds in Japanese language. One distinction is the sound of "l" vs. "r". Like for Fullmetal Alchemist. The girl that makes the automail can either be named "Winly" or "Winry". When they say "love" it really is spelled out as "rabu". That's just one example.
If that's not what you're talking about. The reason why people make so many spelling errors is because they're young and too used to typing in slur. (a.k.a idiots) |

Oh yeah, that's true. The Japanese themselves are the worst spellers. They don't have a good grasp at the concept of L and R, and they often use the "CH" and "T" pronounciation interchangeably.
Their writing system lacks the ability to distinguish L and R sounds; which is the same case in Korean language too. Yep, it's a world of Engrish. These mistakes pop up in anime all the time, the animators are too lazy to even look up an English dictionary... _________________ [IMG:258:200]http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v435/ypark/sigs/3fsn.png[/img]

As an aspiring writer... I have to say, I love grammar and spelling!
It kind of upsets me people replace 'you' with 'u' or 'your' with 'ur'.
It's very simple stuff, but I guess people are just too lazy to extend their fingers to reach y, o and r. _________________ [IMG:432:143:0a18b764ae]http://i30.photobucket.com/albums/c315/Reiswinds/betternastysigD.gif[/img:0a18b764ae] |

yeah.. damn.. u, or ur, or ns, or cya is what you get from writing fastly over the internet..
I almost got myself into trouble by writing u instead of you lots of time in an essay for midterm... thank god i realized... _________________ ã‚?ã?Ÿã?— ã?¯ã€€ã?¾ã‚‹å? ã?•ã‚‹ã?¾ã‚“ ã?§ã?™

well i guess it is out of apathy that most ppl spell badly <-----like this.
Another reason is because some ppl have realy bad spelling (like me) and would rather mask it up by spelling like dis. It is, in a way, a form of slang and i would not be surprised if it becomes official at some point in the future.
And if ppl are spelling in txt format in essays, then they should realy stop and think about where this would bring them in life (hardly gonna teach english in school or become a novelist if ya spell in txt). |

I wouldnt feel any remorse if the 'words' lol, lmao, bbq, wtf, ppl, smexy, and omg were all made illegal to use. Better yet if your computer exploded upon typing those letters...
People fail to notice that the younger people on the forums (the ones who lie about their age) are total morons and shouldnt be allowed on the internet. In addition, it makes anyone who takes the time to learn a name or two look smarter in comparison to: "zomglol the saskay from narootoe totally pwned that dood the other day"
God knows that life would be better if the current generation of kids were all killed. |

| Simply a combination of zomg and lol. In case you did know, zomg is just another wretched variation of omg made famous by a popular member on the forums (the name of the forum is eluding me right now). |

It's hard to pinpoint where "ZOMG" expression originated from. Some people say it started from Starcraft players, referring to the zerg rush. Or it might have simply started out as common spelling mistake when people try to press the left shift key which is right next to letter "Z". _________________ [IMG:258:200]http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v435/ypark/sigs/3fsn.png[/img] |

At first it was fun to try and read l33t, but i very quicly realised how stupid it was when I realised how much easier it would be to just write normaly, plus it gives me a headache~@_@

You know what's really scary? When an entire NATION of native English speaker fail to realise that they have been spelling "Colour" and "Honour" and a bunch of other words incorrectly. There's a "U" in there, stop being lazy!!
As for my excuse for bad spelling? Its not my first language Good Game. |

Haha, those crazy Americans. When will they learn...
It's funny how their way of spelling "color" is applied world wide. For instance, the official html tag for determining colour would be with <tag color=""> _________________ [IMG:258:200]http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v435/ypark/sigs/3fsn.png[/img] |
