Well, when I say its like Lord of the Rings, I mean visually. Of coarse they can't be compared together because they are 2 diffrent stories! But the big panaramic shots of the land and battles are very much like those in LotR. And Narnia is a kids book and movie, so of coarse it will have moments that older kids will think are "sappy".
I think the lion Aslin resembles Jesus vey much,. because he stands up for what is right, and is willing to die to save others. And then he rises from the dead, just like Jesus did.

Yeah, but Aslin knew he was going to come back to life. I don't think Jesus did. I'm not much of a catholic or religious person so don't flame me for making the wrong assumption Confused
Aslin was kind of weird, I didn't really expect him to be a lion. When they mentioned Aslin, I thought he'd be some old sorceror or something like Santa Claus which showed up in the movie... All in all, even if I haven't seen LOTR, I think it would've been better than Chronicles of Narnia.

No, 1ce, I wouldn't flame you for voicing your opinion--you have a right to believe and say what you feel. That is true that Aslin knew he would be coming back to life( he said it during the film), but I think Jesus did too. he knew that in 3 days he would appear to all those who had faith in him and show them that he would not abandon them. LOTR to me seems to be on a much grander, lifelike scale to me, so if i was asked which was better,Chronicles or LOTR, I would say LOTR. Much more perilous odds going against Frodo and Sam than Peter and his friends, and so it seems more realistic. That's just my feeling.

I think that Chronicles of Narnia is by far one of the best movies of 2005 and I would highly recomment to anyone who likes the books or doesnt like the books go to see it. Laughing

Ehh, it was ok. The animation was top quality but, I didn't like the book, didn't like the first movie, and somehow, I wasn't too happy about seeing it. Maybe I just couldn't enjoy it because I had my little sisters drag me in there and had my littlest sister hanging on my arm and crying when Aslan died.

Just to clear this up the lion, witch and the wardrobe is the first book that Lewis wrote of the 7 although it is the second chronologically. C.S. Lewis who is one of my favorite authors wrote more often on philosophical issues and book in defense of the Christian faith, but being an English Prof. at Oxford he also loved allegories, which there are lot of in the Chronicles of Narnia, (although none of them need to be understood in order to enjoy the story).
And yes Aslan is an allegory of Jesus, and Aslan death for the sins of Edward is a picture of Jesus death for sins the world, as well as the resurrection. oh and as a sidenote Jesus being God knew that He was going to die for the sins of the world and rise from the dead on the third day. For more information on C.S. Lewis and the Chronicles of Narnia one can go here - http://cslewis.drzeus.net/

well narnia isn't really what i hoped for but it was still good in its way.
The british accents are just too much , couldnt stop laughting.
The lion , aslund has the coolest voice i've ever heard.
But good storyline , but its a little too childish for me.
I completly forgot it was a Walt disney movie lol.

Okay, this is pathetic. The Chronicals of Narnia came out a few months ago and this was the first time yesterday seeing it for me. I was rather disappointed with the out come of this movie. My siblings always raved how the book was sooooo awesome and fantastic....but sadly, I didn't see it in the movie.

I thought the graphics and special affects were rather nice, so I'm giving the graphics and special affects a 9 out of 10. The costumes were awesome, so I'm giving the costumes a 8 out of 10. Now the acting wasn't all that great.

I happen to like fantasy movies....but giving kids main leads in fantasy movies just kills the whole thing. Now LOTR was a fabulous fantasy movie, I just love watching those 3 disc over and over again without getting tired of watching them. I got really tired of watching those 4 kids in The Chronicals of Naria, especially that Edmund kid, he pissed me off. I think that was what he was suppose to do, and I praise him, because he sure did piss me off, and made me want to kick him in the cock.

With kids acting, there's always a problem. Either they don't know how to act, they act too cute which kills it, or they're just plain stupid. Now I saw all three of those in the movie. Peter did not know how to act, Lucy acted too cute, and Susan and Edmund where just plain stupid. I didn't really know why Susan was there, she was just there. Peter's a wimp, Lucy's annoying, and Edmund reminded me of my nephews, greedy little bastards.

I don't really blame the kids for this(in my opinion)awful movie, I blame the characters. Characters have to have a motive of Why am I here and What am I doing question running through their head, and in this case all I heard was a What the hell, I'll just do it. Characters also affect the plot...and honestly...I didn't really like the plot. In my opinion this was the plot, 'Oh, we need 4 kids to help us free the land! Hey you 4 kids, want to help?' The plot was really bland and blah! So I'm rating the plot a 4 out of 10.

Over all I hated this movie, it's not that good and it's that bad. So I'm rating this movie a 4.5 out of 10, but this is only my opinion, only a small voice in a choir.

The book i read and heard a few times and the storyline is like cheezy so i lost interest in it ever since. I'm just not into this whole kids becoming princes and princesses and talking animals
