So just who is your favorite manga publisher??? Personally, mine is Viz because they have kick-ass titles and don't empty my wallet on one trip to the manga section.

Shonen Jump is a part of VIZ, if you really don't know. It also contains Shojo, Shojo Beat, Action, Editor's Choice and a few others...

Manga publishers?? You know, the companies who translate and put the manga on the market? Just about all manga has the publisher in a pretty obvious spot.

Mainly Viz. Probably 90% of my manga collection is Viz, mainly because its got such a large selection of action manga with good stories, such as Naruto, Death Note, and Fullmetal Alcemist, which are among my favorites.

However, I do also love Tokyopop. They too have some great titles available, such as .hack//legend of the twilight, Girls Bravo, Scrapped Princess and more, all of which I love.

well, see? I didnt know that...then doesnt VIZ have the edge just by default because it has so many umbrella labels like shounen jump etc...?

although I think Tokyo Pop might still have the most titles, I could be wrong though, thats just how it seems at my bookstore.

Sorry to be out this late..

Now we have 2 topics on favorite manga publishers, containing almost the exact same content, except noone ever replyed to the other thread.

After a long time deciding which one to keep (about 1 minute), I'm gonna lock this thread. If you disagree, notify me and I'll have you banned! (just kidding)

The link for the other thread: Your favorite publisher.

-Locked

*EDIT* After a small talk with whiteleaf I've decided to reopen this thread and lock the other one instead. So; just continue with whatever it was, you were talking about ^^

Arnt you guys forgetting Del Ray??

Its sorta new on the block...but it kicks arse!!! >_<~yay!

It started with a bang, by publishing some sure winners, Ken Akamatsu, CLAMP, and a Gundam title....

...yeah, they've had a few problems with translations, but their mangas are authentic and good quality.

I like the titles Tokyopop have, but they do have major issues with editing, translations, paper quality...but hey, I forgive them.

Viz are also good, they have Shonen Jump and Shojo Beat on their side, but in my opinion can be a "little" heavy with the editing.

For me, the best manga publishers are VIZ and TokyoPop. (I really can't choose Crying or Very sad )

ShonenJump/Shogakukan and TokyoPop are both cool. Some popular mangas are from SJ (like Naruto, One Piece, Bleach, Shaman King, etc.) while some are from Tokyo Pop (CLAMP mangas, Furuba, etc.) but I treat them equally. I buy both of them.

If you're talking about anime publishers, still, both of them. Shueisha (SJ) and TokyoPop both has bad and good points...
