Certain types of shows with questionable content will not be shown til late, this is to lower the amount of children watching suggestive programming. It's something that cannot be helped, unless you want the cut down version of the show.
Is Cartoon Network bad for anime? No. The only problem here is with the people who watch anime being so annoyed by something they can't control. If you don't like the voice acting, then you just don't like it. There's nothing that can be changed about it, find the Japanese version, watch it, and be satisfied.
If you don't like the censored versions. Then wait til late night to watch it, or once again find it in Japanese. I'm not sure why it's like this, but these shows seem to be fine for kids in Japan to watch as is. We have different regulations so in order to even get some things on the air, it has to be edited. You can also add in, that the shows have to be westernized a bit to understand. Do you honestly think young kids know about nose bleeds coming from sexual actions? And do you actually think parents would like it explained to their kids in other countries? Let alone the huge amounts of blood that come flying from their noses in the first place, it's pretty excessive. I don't mind it, and I of course find it funny, but kids won't really understand it.
Cartoon Network isn't bad for anime, it gives people who don't know what it is a taste of it. It's how alot of people on this forum most likely got their start, and it's also exposing younger kids who may keep an interest as they get older. There's nothing wrong with it, we already know that it's not a big market outside of Japan so it's not focused on. You can see though, that more and more kids shows created in Japan are making their way around the world and becoming popular. Why be upset about it? If you know that it's supposed to be different, why do you care so much? The problem isn't with Cartoon Network, it's more with other anime fans. The type of people who like to point at things and say "This isn't really anime" and such.
Don't get so bothered by trivial things. Be happy that the industries expanding and we're getting more access to shows we've seen and love. If it's been changed to much, you've see the origional so what's the point of crying so much? _________________ Running from your problems only wastes time... They always catch up either way. |

| Cartoon Network isn't really ruining anime. It dubbes it and is a place where a greater audience can access it. Just becuase I personally don't find it as enjoyable as those off the internet, it doesn't mean Cartoon Network is 'ruining' anime. |

The true problem isn't CN, they do have problems but for the most part its things that we cant control and neither can they. they cant put certain things on air before 10 o'clock because their programing is directed towards children. so it gives people a small window that they can actually watch what they have to offer.
The problem is that that there is no one challenging CN for their audience. I honestly believe if there were at least one other station that showed anime consistantly it would make CN better. _________________ 912

All the cartoon networks, all over the world (except in Japan) suck!
And the matter is this:CENSURE!
I hate censured stuff, expecially about anime!
It's look like to mutilate the Donatello's David statue,or to cut the DaVinci's MonaLisa portrait.
Anime (and manga too) are artworks and everyone must show respect for them. _________________ "Death is certain,

| CN makes people interested in anime and thus alot of them hop on the web and find that there is better stuff. and Dubbing ruins some anime for me. |

reruns are definitely a killer :p and so is dubbing! read subtitles you lazy buggers.
why would CN be bad for anime? no one forces you to watch something you dont like, if you dont like a channel aimed at 10yos then dont switch to that channel, if u even have it that is. |

Unlucky Seven had a pretty good point. CN isn't necessarily bad for anime.
And rather than criticize, it's better to be constructive about your arguments. If you don't like what CN is showing, get your own anime network. And what's animax? _________________ Life is an opportunity waiting to happen |
