Which is the best, Shonen or Shojou? Why?

actually it depends really on genre like romance or comedy
but since clamp has all differnt types i like them

I think Fruits Basket would have to be the best shojo for me because the characters are so well developed and you fall in love with each one in your own way. Plus all the guys are cute but I also really liked Love Hina because it was so funny and the jokes were off the wall sometimes. But those two i liked the best so far.

Although, i did like Ichigo 100% for a shojo a lot but i didn't quite agree with the ending. A good manga though.

er.....CLAMP arnt a genre, they are a team of mangakas.

To me it dosnt matter, as long as I enjoy the story, like the characters and seem to like the art (wich CLAMP are arguably one of the best Wink

), then it dosnt matter wether its a shonene or shojo...

I like Shonen more that shoujo, even though there're some shoujo manga that I still love to read...

Ahhh... first of all CLAMP isn't a genre. It's a pseudonym used by a person to create mangas.

I would prefer Shoujo because I am a big sucker for love and romance mangas.

Because, as many peple pointed out, CLAMP isn't a genre, this topic is flawed. CLAMP is a team of 4 people who do mangas and designs for anime shows.

Second, love and romoance mangas aren't necessarily only shoujo, there are plenty of romance mangas that are "shonen" A glaring example is Ichigo 100%. Another one is I"s.

Apparently we don't have shonen/shoujo discussion thread, so I'm gonna leave this one open, but edit the first post.

Haha and not to mention that this argument has been pretty much settled over a year ago... CLAMP isn't a genre.

I'm gonna say, I prefer seinen manga genre instead of either shounen or shoujo manga.

Here are just some of the seinen genre that are well known (you can't really classify these as shounen or shoujo):
-Berserk
-Hellsing
-Genshiken
-Tenjo Tenge
-Azumanga Daioh (mainly because it was serialized in seinen manga magazine, and the way the kanji are used)
-Kamichu!
-Blade of the Immortal
-Black Lagoon
-Gantz
-Ichi the Killer
-High School of the Dead (If you've never heard of this manga, go read it now!)
-Monster

Basically what my age group would enjoy reading. I do find many shounen manga to be too cliched and childish to enjoy anymore. But don't get me wrong, I do enjoy some shounen manga from time to time.

But I would have to say, the genre I truly read the most would be... adult ero manga. Twisted Evil
