you can't really compare them as such as they are both different type of paces as games, i mean quake 4 is a run & gun type game, while fear is more of a slower type of game (though by no means fully)

in any case, i have both FEAR & Q4, and like them equal

If you want a fun multiplayer FPS get Battlefield 2.

I honestly think this is purely opinion based, simply because both games are excellent have have their respective merits. But for both games, playing by yourself at night with all the lights off and the sound way up, will deliver quite a heart attack to you haha.. if I had to choose I'd go with FEAR

i think ill go with quake 4..i like smashing up aliens with shottie instead of tactical shooters

Am I the only one that thinks both games are pretty lame?
Ok, good visuals, but... what else? If I want to shit my pants I'm going to play Undying or System Shock 2, if I want a tactical shooter I'm going with Ghost Recon or Rainbow Six, if I want to go on a rampage Quake3 is always there for me.

Games these days are really just recycled.

i would rather play F.E.A.R. over Quake 4 but both games are good. It really depends what kind of game you like. F.E.A.R. is pushed towards a horror single player story and QUAKE 4 is more of a multiplayer oriented. Also i hear theres some graphic problems with Quake 4 but i can't confirm that. Download the demos and see for yourself.

F.E.A.R beats Quake 4 hands down. F.E.A.R. has so much destructive senery and much more single player orented while Quake 4 uses the Doom 3 engine in it. It isnt a bad engine... just not as good a F.E.A.R.'s... I would choose F.E.A.R hands down!

Hmm, well I think FEAR is a bit more enjoyable because I think that Quake 4 is a bit...I don't raelly know how to put it, but the graphics are just...they CHEATED and used the graphic engine from Doom3. I would have liked to have seen a more creative side to Quake 4, but I still give kudos to them because they were still able to make the multiplayer really fun even after all those years (but is that really saying much when compared to UR).

I found parts of FEAR to be a bit...overdone or overused. FEAR really takes the scary parts of movie aspects and puts it in a game, which is pretty cool, and a new way to play, but somehow I felt it was just a bit lacking. The game play is good and suprisingly I'm not finished with the game because it is pretty challenging (but then again I suck at FPS)!

I haven't played Quake 4, but I have beaten FEAR. Fear is a very awesome game, so I would reccommend it.
