I really like it as long as its flows well the the story.

Pure action never works that well in films/books/programs....that is why romance is always added.

It gives depth to the characters, it gives a side story, it can add comidy or drama to any situation and it appeals to those who wont usualy watch/read an action story.

If a manga/anime was pure action, then chances are that my short attention span would kick in rather quickly. In any manga/anime, reguardless of genre, I like to have strong, emotional stories with strong relationships to go with it. It doesnt even neccesarily have to be love. For example, Naruto. Most of the relationships in the series have little to no romance involved in them. Relationships like the rivalry between Naruto and Sasuke, and the relationship between Hinata and Neji (that is one of the most interesting connections I have ever read about).

it gives the manga a spice that just action manga wouldnt have..its just an extra seasoning that spices the manga up. thats what i think

It never hurt to add some romance into it as long as it never effected the flow of the manga/anime making it bad then it's okey. Some of anime/manga became funny, cheerful added more atmosphere with romance, like in Inuyasha the perverted Miroku with Sango the demon slayer. But some manga/anime became worse with romance they don't need them not all manga needed them, it depends on the genre and plot.
