This one is still just for fun. But I did do it seriously.
just want to c how professional-like I can make it apears to be.
And so far its been......disapointing(sweat)
looks like I still have a long way to go.
Its quite a hustle to try to make an English version of it.
and I dont think anyone is going to collect these junks,
so I will just put the translation beside it. the translation will
be according to the sequence of the conversation.
Chapter one: Entrusted
ch1: Hey, the head master has arrived.
ch2: Are u sure this is the right guy?
ch3: Can't be wrong...
ch2: Mr...
ch2: My name is Chen hai wu
ch2: I am just wondering if...
ch3: Ah, master Chen?
ch3: My name is Ma Pian Zi. I have heard about u long ago, and have always wanted to meet u.
ch3: If u are not in a hurry, please have a seat and lets have some thing to drink. It will be my treat.
ch2: ....Hum, playing dumb
ch3: Sure, since u have suggested.
ch2: woooii....!!
ch2: woooo...
ch3: dont move!!
ch3: be a good boy and stay still.
ch1 + the gangs: Ma...Master!!
ch3: Same with u guys over there. Try to move a bit, and I will
slice a piece of meat from him.
ch2: You...
ch2: Wei! use such cheap and dirty trick, this is unmanly and unhero-like!!
ch3: Look who is talking?
ch3: It's not manly for me to use such tricks, yet it is for u guys to gang up on me eh?
ch2: ah...
ch3: Chen hui wu is a fake name, ur real name is Ke Yi Sa ,
ch3: and ur r the headmaster of the shui-lian Clan, am I not right?
ch3: I guess u have also came for "that thing" right?
ch2: ....
ch3: Bunch of idiots (sign)!
ch3: I will tell u this: the thing u guys want is not with me, u have came for nothing. You guys r like people who were born without a brain!
ch3: But more stupid than this...
ch3: is that u people forget to value ur own stregnth before u try to mess
with ur grand-pa. (A Chinese would refer himself as opponent's grandpa as a way to provoke and show disrespect to his opponent.)
ch3: Since u guys r bored with ur long lives and have nothing to do other than doing brainless activities, I will let u have ur way...
ch3: None of u...
ch3: shall leave here alive!!
After reading all those, I guess u r all dizzy with those legnthy Chinese names? Don't worry, I also have the same problem when it comes to English names....hahaha |

I am impressed
By coming up with a comic strip, you show much perseverance and determination in your art
It is actually a good read.
However for the last frame when 扁子 was threatening the whole lot, wouldn't it have been better to say,
"我就把你们杀个...片甲不留!"
"I shall slaughter you all till there's nothing left!" (more dramatic in Chinese, I guess)
Personally, I think you are more gifted/skilled/used to the Chinese way of art than the Japanese style. It is quite evident to me in the sketches you supplied in the other post. as well as here. |

Wow... I like.
Very impressive, do you plan to continue this or have somewhere we can view the remainder of the comic?
Also maybe an english translated version would be cool too =) _________________

to Yebyosh:
I draw comic in Chinese style becuase no one does these day.
The younger generation in my country has been swallowed up by
Jap style stuff totally. Everyone is drawing kimono, samurai sword,
and sakura tree. This is a sorrowful sight. I like Japanese stuff very much
but where is our own style? There r alot of thing in the Chinese culture that can be utilized in ACG art too. I want to present that to the people.
Thats the reason the setting of my comic is in China. Otherwise, I would have done a comic like Yuyuhaksu(is this the right spelling?) or I would do a romantic manga.
About ur suggestion on the wording..... that is good too.
but my version enphasis on the "killing" part, while ur implies a total defeat of the enimy, yet is weaker on the killing part. In this case I strll think my choice fits in better.
but nice suggestion.
to Kaiser:
Nice to know u like it. I was wondering how people here would react to my style. I am not going to put it somewhereelse. I will post them here,
which I believe is easier.
about an English version.... I will think about it. It is not easy to do since my English is totally weak, and many words r hard to translate. |

I don't see why you think that the end result was disappointed. I thought the scans are very well done.
I'm curious as to how old you are and how long does it take you to draw each page?
As for the style, I commend you for being original. Seeing something different is like a fresh cup of water, very refreshing. I'd love to see more from you so keep on posting. |

1. The machine can't do me wrong, my man, lol. It's my lack of skill and professional knowledge that disappointed me. It did not come out as good as what I expectd.
2. I am pretty old man, compare to the people here. I would guess that most people here r in their teens or early 20s? I will become 24 close the the end of the year. The one thing I can say is that if u want to become good then u have to put in the effort. I was always a little bit better at drawing than the people around me, which gave me a sense of pride, not knowing that I am still considered a newbie in the world of artists. Now I kind of regret that I did not train myself more seriously when I was young.
So make ur descision and give it ur best shot, if u want to become good in anything. As for how long I take to get one page done, I would say it takes a day. I was never be able to finish 2 pages in the same day. For the first few pages I took longer to complete. But now since I am more experienced ( or more lazy to get to the detail?) I can finish a page in 3 hours.
3. I very much appreciete ur thoughts on my comic. It is my pleasure to hear people say that I have a rather original style. I will try my best to post more often here. I post my stuff at another forum regularly( onece to twice a day). These is becuase many other people also post frequently there. I don't think I can do that here, since the posting frequency is relativily low. And even if there is a new post, it does not always have a piece of fan art in it. It would felt very weird to be the only person keep on posting. I would really like to c this forum flourish, though.

It is easy to find people who also like to read mangas, but hard to find people who also draw them just for interest. May I ask u to get a few pages of ur works up here? Its a very tough task to turn my comic into English, given that my English is so poor.

Cool. I like your style. The panneling is great and I love the shading.
This is really very good.
I tried making a comic once, it turned bad (really bad), so i know just how much effort and hardwork you've given into doing this. |

Now that's a quality work.
I haven't seen a chinese manhwa for such a long time. The last one i read was Fung Yun (Stormriders). I notice most of the chinese manhwa are based on kungfu.

This is the greatest one-man Chinese comic I've ever seen.
I am now officially your fan, Basala. Keep up the awesome work. |
