Last EXILE: What did I miss?

Last EXILE was a pretty good series. I enjoyed it and then threw it away, because I was done watching. I didn't find it amazing, but there were aspects I liked. Unforuntately, it did some annoying things which is why I gave it a seven out of ten. An above average, while an eight is a good.

Kaiser is the only one who scored Last Exile at a seven, with everybody else going higher. Perhaps it is the fact that we've seen so much but I look at other admins and they give it high marks as well.

My question is: What makes it so amazing? In other words, what did I miss?

It should be obvious that this isn't a Last Exile discussion thread, but a case as to why it was so good. I wrote that line so my expectations are defined.

i'd like to tell you what you missed but its been a long time since i seen it and i can't quite remember the finer points to it. bah i can't even remember what happened at the end, i just know that i liked it.

i would also like to know wat happened @ the very end....kinda got pissed cuz of the love triangle and how the series didn't pick up speed.~!

I watched Last Exile a long time ago and here's what i still remember:

1. Huge airships and pirate style battle.
2. Vaanship racing which reminds me Anakin's pod racing from Star Wars Episode 3 Phantom Menace.
3. Cool dogfights.
4. Cute girls flying airships.
5. Soldiers stand and wait for bullets to pierce through their bodies, instead of moving around sniping their enemies.

If you don't remember a series that well, and you give it high marks, that's a crime!

I remember those parts Lucifer, and I don't really consider some of those things as a bonus but a fact of anime. "Cute girls" is such an example, though I did remember writing in my review about that 2nd in command who turned into royalty. She was smokin' with the 'royalty dress'.

The fights were cool, and the premise of the merchants being the enemy was novel, but I don't remember it being amazing.

It seems others also think that Last EXILE wasn't very good, but I guess they were too lazy or intimidated to write about how they didn't like it.

This is my opinion then...

I ranked Last Exile high (8/10) because not only of memorable characters (Alvis is too cute, Dio is pitiable, and who doesn't want to kill that one particular b**tch?), great soundtracks (it goes well with the emotions of the story) but mainly because of how they put up the episodes

It was great, on how they seamlessly connect one episode to another, wasting no episodes to provide the continuity. There was no filler episodes, almost every side character potrayed, will make their appearances later on (like that girl in the first episode, who asked Claus and Lavie to deliver the letter to her father, she too made a comback later on). That means, each and every character will play a role, big or small. (Yes, even the annoying Fat Chicken )

And it was also rewatchable, after a one year hiatus or so, you can still rewatch it and still enjoy it from start to finish...

i watched most of the series but when it started getting to the end i just felt bored....dunno y.....it has its good points, definetly something originial. But the thing that i probably enjoyed the most was the music...lol.

perhaps i lost interest in watching the rest of the series is bcuz claus and lavi were losing their connection/friendship. stuff like that just depresses me when the 2 main characters (who were the best of friends) drift apart~! so i stuck around to see if anything was going to patch up between the 2...but it just remained the same for quite some time....so i guess, to me, it just lagged.
