a bit of both is good... sometimes funny mangas don't have any depth whereas serious mangas are always too depressing... Razz

I have to agree with platina there, I love comedy. But it depends on the storyline. I read Monster, which is quite a grim tale of a doctor after a killer twin. And I've read Kuroshiya Ichi too~ Very Happy

But of course, if I were to choose, I'd pick Pretty Face over every one of them any day~ Wink

I personally prefer my manga to be more serious. Though I have nothing against comic relief (as long as it is used appropriately), I find that stories with deep and serious plots and lots of emotion and drama appeal to me more. And with the manga I read that do use comic relief (such as Naruto and FMA), I still tend to prefer them for their more serious moments.

i usually go for a manga with both elements but if not then i'll go for a funny one and then also buy action one.

i like it funny most of the time coz that's one of the reason why im reading manga, to entertain or distract myself from more exhausting activities a.k.a. school work.

but sometimes i like them serious like when i read a suspense and gore manga like GOTH

it's either super serious with a little funny in it to lighten it every once in a while
or..
completely insane funniness with no seriousness at all (NONE! NO! NEVAR!)
