a career in manga/anime?

Does anyone else here think about having a career in manga or anime one day? Like does anyone here have good artistic skills and are thinking about drawing for a profession. I really want to write for mangas even though I have no idea how to do that.

No, it looks like really hard work, most mangaka depict themselves with editors banging on their doors and all nighters to reach deadlines. As for anime, that's all computer generated so it's not the way to go if you like drawing. If you want to become a mangaka:

1. Move to Japan
2. Learn how to write japanese
3. Get hired by a company that sells manga (like Jump or Shonen Sunday Rolling Eyes

)

You can't draw mangas in anywhere else than Japan (and sometimes korea, i don't know if they still call it manga there). Those drawn in this side of the world are called comics, and any mangas we get here are from japan (or, again, korea).

well what Id kinda like to know is how to become a manga writer not nesecarily an artist since I cant draw

writer? as in script/dialogue?

1. move to japan
2. befriend a mangaka and work together with him

if the mangaka knows english you won't have to learn japanese Wink

I always thought there is only ONE creator for manga. Isn't it just the original creator @.@

But for anime I guess there's more sections to the work like artists. Musica person lol. Dude in charge of casts. And some other things XD

I voted yes, I'd love to be a manga editor, I'm Chinese and since Kanji(some of the Japenese Characters) are almost identical to Chinese characters I'm half way there. Though of course it'll still be hard work to learn to speak Japenese.

i voted yes as well....i would like to have a part in creating anime.....or directing and screen writing.....my friend also tells me that i would be good as a voice actor~! i'm still exploring the fields in which i can contribute to anime~! but i would really like to have a career w/in the anime relm~!

i would take a job in anime if i could becouse i really like anime and i have some good ideas for new one that would not use the same idea that they use over and over agian i mean how many mecha shows can you make befor it get old not that i have a problem with mecha
