Suffering is caused by craving and aversion. We will suffer if we expect other people to conform to our expectation, if we want others to like us, if we do not get something we want, etc. In other words, getting what you want does not guarantee happiness. Rather than constantly struggling to get what you want, try to modify your wanting. Wanting deprives us of contentment and happiness.
Think this is what you're trying to say. _________________ "It is also paradox that the earth moves round the sun, and that water consists of two highly inflammable gases. Scientific truth is always paradox, if judged by every-day experience, which catches only the delusive appearance of things."

Those sound like buddhist ideas Fenix. Are they?
Personally, I think suffering is part & parcel of life. Just accept it and move on. |

Yep. Glad you noticed ^^ Are you a buddhist?
I have a special interest in buddhism, and have adopted many of their life philosophies. _________________ "It is also paradox that the earth moves round the sun, and that water consists of two highly inflammable gases. | @-@ Jeez, he just wants to know if love hurts. Well let me borrow something from an old show I watched. It hurts so good. I mean, you have this...this emotion that justs makes you want to laugh and cry. It's just to much to hold so it hurts, but as said before, it hurts so good. I think the other guys were saying heartbreak. Love itself doesn't hurt (bad) but heartbreak does. Now THAT is bad. Anyway, it's all up to you if you want it. Now I have someone to snog now....I wish. T-T |

| I've read up on many religions. I realise that buhhism is actually more of a philosophy like confucianism or taoism than a religion. |

My friend said that for him, love is sometimes an urge to serve and be used by somebody. Maybe pain can sometimes be part of the experience. And Im not talking about it in a kinky way . When you treasure the transience of love it becomes a kind of exquisite pain Am i bullshiting or is this what you were trying to get to auc?
Aprun just summed it up for me while i was typing this :] |

| sry fenix i wasnt taking a shot at you in my post, sry if it came across like that. also like pyro said, buddhism is more of a philosophy, it's not really a religion. i remember going to a buddhist temple during school, buddha himself isn't the focus of buddhism, it's his teachings. our teacher told us that buddha himself said he didn't want to be worshipped. also i believe love cant really be explained off in words, it's something i believe you should try. though in the terms of does it hurt, somewhere along the line yes, though many things do hurt but aren't all that bad are they? i mean a medical operation may hurt but its all for the better isn't it? horrible analogy, love is nothing like that, though experience can help you in later relationships. once you've experienced it, knowing how to deal with the pain is invaluable. |

Love does hurt. Like everything in life love is not perfect. But it's worth it if you really fall in love and if you're lucky enough to have that person love you back. I was afraid it would hurt me but then I fell in love with my girlfriend and we're getting along great. I am lucky. I hope you guys will be too, especially you auc. _________________ Reality is wrong.

If you truly care for someone and you unfortunately break up (for any reason) or if you dont break up (like the feeling of not being loved anymore by your significant other or even jealousy) you will still feel the emotional pain that comes with carrying for someone you love. Don't even have to be a couple to feel the pain of love =.= maybe the person you like is going out with someone else ... that hurts a lot too... But you know what they say: "If you truly love someone you'll let them go" (something like that )
Basically ... Yea ... Love hurts |

They say that if something's yours you must let it go and if it returns to you it truly belongs to you. I think this theory could be applied here. _________________ Reality is wrong.

wondering if love does really hurt, that's a tough question. according me, it hurt me because i was really disappointed. the disappointment is the thing that hurt me the most. but also the rejection, i couldn't stand for that because i felt lonely but now, it's okay i have friends beside me. _________________ -LadyPaoline- |

Love always hurts in the end.
You will get all fluffy when your in love , and that person shares the same feeling .. but there is always a break up , always.
Dont believe the fairy tales with "We love each other for 70 years already"
Love is really evil :/ |

| Love isn't evil, people are evil. You can love someone, and they not love you. Or you love someone and they pretend to love you. Now THAT is worse. Sometimes, you want to throttle people you love. Hate comes with love. perhaps that is why people think love hurts. After all, they are just across from each other. Opposites are more similar than they seem. |
