Wow, I feel a bit like a hypocrite right now.
Anyway, to answer the question posed in the initial post of this thread, I really have no idea why girls seem to have more accessories than guys. I suppose that males don't feel as though they need to "adorn" themselves in a way that is appealing to the opposite sex as much as females feel almost obligated to do. I personally don't care for many accessories and frown upon body piercings. Tattoos, depending on the motive involved, I can deal with, but earrings, rings, and a variety of bracelets I have long since deemed unnecessary and, at times, unsightly.
Besides, why would you purchase new ways that one could unexpectedly injure or restrict a body part in some way? I will settle for having my cap stolen by female acquaintances over that any day. _________________ [IMG:240:120:b0be737b07]http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v195/Alexiel-sama/misuzudies.gif[/img:b0be737b07]

I believe men like to call their accessories "bling-blings". _________________ [IMG:258:200]http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v435/ypark/sigs/3fsn.png[/img] |

well, for my opinion, this "accessorizing" thing dated back a long time ago. i'll use people from Greece. see how women just love to wear dangling earrings? that is to catch someone's attention. face it, if you notice a sparkle or a moving a object at a tiny glance.....you'll obviously look back and see what it really was. then there, she's got your attention.
and women are born as vain creatures. they want to be noticed and be complimented of their beauty. by accessorizing, they get people's attention to sepcific body parts like the face, hands, neack and hair.
before, they wore gold and sparkling gems.....i dont really know how it evolved to gel bracelets and metal necklaces. but it still attracts you, no? |

I agree with xenon10, women want to get noticed and complemented.....they want to look their best....why? well I guess its a form of mating ritual performed by humans...
Hmmm....I guess there are guys who accessorise....to get noticed....but not for same reasons.......like Goths, Grundgies or Punks.
I dont realy accessorise....I just have a few things attached to my keys.... |

I was going to place down I don't wear accessories, but that option wasn't available and the person who placed the post believes tattoos are accessories.
SO, i have a tattoo across my left shin. It's about 4 inch wide and 3 inches high. And, it kind of looks like the face of a norse wind, but i personally feel that's it's a forest spirit in pain. _________________ HCl before H20 makes a big bang |

Just a hip hop originated slang that means anything luxurious you own or luxurious life style. So it'd include expensive jeweleries. _________________ [IMG:258:200]http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v435/ypark/sigs/3fsn.png[/img] |

| bowser>thanks. i think guys only accessorize to express themselves. sorry for generalizing. guys judge girls by their looks. by letting people see what they are through what they're wearing, they accessorize. or like women, it dated back before. in wars or tournaments, appearance is a big thing. the tougher you look, the more respected you are. |

well for a girl i don't wear a lot of things, i'm not really a material person.
i have earings, a necklace, rings ( one is from my mom and the other, my ring of graduation) and the most important my watch, can't live without it because i have to know time. you'll find it funny, but even if there's are 2 big clock in the school cafe, i don't feel safe, i need my watch lol. _________________ -LadyPaoline- |
