Have you already seen it ??
if not please read the book first written by Arthur Golden ! Have a look at the poster http://www.blackfilm.com/20041126/features/fs_memoirs_p1b.shtml !
There's not much to tell about it without telling the story except what you have already guess ... it's the story of a young japanese girl from a little fishing village with uncommun grey eyes who gonna become one of the most famous geisha ^^ very poetic and realistic book at the same time...
please tell me for those who know it what do you think ??
sorry for my poor english (i'm french^^) |

It has a very awful ending, but over all the movie is good. _________________ Life is full of truth, but I'd rather live in lies. I know if I live in lies, everything arent for real, but if you say you love me, is it something I could feel? |

it was ok i guess.. well i have to read the book to give a good comparison... but... having chinese people do japanese is somewhat not to my liking... i know zhang zhiyi is hot and all especially with those blue eyes but still she wasn't able to get rid of her chinese accent in the movie... its kinda hard to take in the movie with that thought lingering at the back of your head... _________________

i've read the book for the forth time....
ohhhh.... i like the book very much.
on the movie, i'm looking foward for it but certainly not as good as the novel.
how can you crammed a 500+ pages into a 2 hours movie? |

i havent read the book yet, i want to, but cant find a copy.
im really looking forward to this movie. by all the publicity and glamour thats been shown on tv, papers and radio, its gonna be a huge blockbuster.

I enjoyed the movie but I think I would have enjoyed it more if they had spoken in japanese with subs. I'll try the book later and see which is better. _________________ Live to be the best, to be the best - be yourself.

| The movie is really pretty, and I didn't think the accents were too bad. I agree that it would have been better in Japanese, however. |

| Well, if you guys hadn't noticed, there were a lot of factual things wrong with both the movie and the book. That's because the writer didn't back his facts right. The movie seemed a bit bad too.Pretty good, but you just got the feeling it was so-so. I'm not being critical, but the book AND movie go about the themes pretty badly. Like a geisha being stuck and all that. It's like making out Geisha to be like prostitutes or something. Anyway, just watch the movie a second time and you might see what I'm talking about. |

I loved the book and the movie, but I thought that the book was better. I dont think that they made Geisha out to be prostitutes, they said in the movie and the book that it's art. And in no way were they having sex for money. I will definitely buy this movie when it comes out. _________________ [IMG:150:113:e9846eec03]http://i37.photobucket.com/albums/e83/neonlamb/04.jpg[/img:e9846eec03][img:54:54:e9846eec03]http://www.boomspeed.com/egraphics/90725.gif[/img:e9846eec03] |

| I watched the movie and I wasn't that impressed. I wanted some action and there wasn't... It wasn't bad but it wasn't that great either. |

There wasn't any moments that made you feel like crying. I thought that this movie would be more moving or at least more emotionally driven than this. I was a bit dissapointed, but I must admitt that it was a daring change for an american film to be based on asian culture. _________________ PM some funny pick-up lines please > |
