Your PC...ON or OFF?

On weekdays, I usually turn the computer on when I came back from work. That is usually around 7PM. After that, it is on till I went to office at around 7AM. I turn it off when I go to work in the morning.

I listen to songs to to get myself into the dream world and I do not have a good Hi-Fi system, so I used my computer as my music player =)

i used to leave it on 24/7 but now i turn it off much more often

Well...since I aint using it 24/7...I don't see the point in having it on...

I used to leave it on when I was living with my parents, but now that I have to pay the bills I turn it off when not in use. I tell you leaving it on ALL the time is actually a bit pricy. Shocked

I feel bad for doing it to my mom now.

I used to turn it off each time I use it. Now I got used to it being on 24/7.
Now I can't even sleep if my computer is off cause it is just too quiet!
Most of the time the computer is downloading so thats why it is 24/7 LOL.

I tend to leave my comp. on 24?7 when I download batch torrents. If not, then I turn it off at night, while I'm sleeping. howver, my downloading circumstances have had me getting batch torrents for the past 5 months, and I'm working my way throug my last one. So 24/7 it is.

I turn off when I'm done using it.

But I never got the point in doing this on weekends, since it's only unused for those 7 hours overnight...My mom is just convinced that it saves electricity.

My comp is a laptop, a heavy duty laptop at that. I bring it back and forth from work, home and school... so it's always being turned off. I usually leave it on overnight if I'm downloading torrents. Other then that, or if I'm using it, it's off so it's ready for transport at all times. Cool

Mine is on 24/7 beacsue of downloads but even if it isnt its usually on. But i have a question if anyone can answer i hear that its better to leave the comp on rather the to start it up and turn it off. truth?

I leave my computer on for about 16 hours a day for torrents and what not, but i turn it off for a good nights rest and continue the next day...though when the d/l rate are too good to switch off i leave it on over night

I can't see any reason for my pc to leave on while I'm asleep... well I do leave my pc open when I went to town for some errand or etc which usually about 2-3 hours. In other words, I never leave my PC unattended for more than 4 hours.

If talk about download... I can always get it done in no time... running a HT is really disturbing as it can be very noisy especially during night time where the atmosphere is so quiet but the Processor Fan keep making the damn noise. Besides... to get an ep of anime done usually didn't take me more than 4 hours... unless I'm downloading a whole batch of anime consisting of 13ep or more...

Besides... wouldn't it be wasting electricity and you just have to end up crying at the end of the month looking at the electric bill...

provided im not downloading or running a benchmarking test or some other test that takes a damn long time it's off when i sleep but other than that on all day long

All 5 of my computers are always on 27/7 except every last day of the month. I give it a 24 hour rest, so I use my old laptop which I bring to the mall or the aiport.
