Do you use walkthroughs?

i always get really annoyed when my brother uses walkthroughs from the begginig of a game. the only time i ever used a walkthrouhg was after getting stuck on vagrant story for two years then finally ordered the officla walkthrough whihc was actually pretty awesome but only used it for that bit then played thourhg again with it as there was loads of stuff i missed first time!

Yeah, it really bugs me that I have a friend who instantly uses cheats, and everything, the moment the game gets hard. Anyways I use walkthroughs for parts that I get stuck on for at least a week.(except when renting, then it's only 3 days) I've also got the one for Xenosaga II since I got the OST with it. (It's a nice cd by the way)

i use walkthroughs only on difficult parts of a game or on a part im not sure of. i cant say i dont use walkthroughs but i dont use them like a bible.

i'll only use walkthrough when i'm seriously stuck at a place.

i only use them after i beat the game to find hidden items and also to see if there was an easier way. no cheat codes are a different matter...........

I use if I'm completely clueless about the game or when it's time to find some hidden items or Extras. But most of the time....I just go to gamefaqs if I get stuck at some point n a game.

have a strict "beat the game once without a manual rule" after that it's all fun and games

Same, i always try and get as far or try and beat it before i give up and go and find all of the quotes i can... it just isnt challenging if you do it from the start, cuz then u dont want to beat the game if u already did it when u were invincible cuz u already know what is going to happen! Where's the fun in that?

i don't use walkthrough until really get stuck in one place for over an hour or i beat the game and play it again.

i use walkthrughs mabye a little because why would you buy the game if your just going to cheat through it

For RPGs walkthroughs are great because they save you time. I simply don't have the time to sit around and do nothing. Some FAQs also tell you how to get the most of a game if you were only to play through it once.

I do however, try to avoid using them unless I am stuck on a part for more than 15 minutes.

Truth be told, folks, I use FAQs quite a lot, especially since I'm a GameFAQs member.

Saviour-V grins slightly...

Fact is, I've even made FAQs too, although I haven't written anything good in ages. Of course, I have beaten games without a walkthrough - Klonoa Heroes: Densetsu no Star Medal comes to mind.

But when I'm really stuck, especially in games such as Rockman Dash 2 (Mega Man Legends 2) and in the more recent Castlevania games, such as Aria of Sorrow, Dawn Of Sorrow, and Portrait of Ruin, I usually look up an FAQ, but only after I'm stuck in one area and don't know where to go, or what to do next.

For some games, I even check out the forums in GameFAQs for a few clues and answers, and once I finish the game, I help out when I can.

In fact, some FAQs did come up after I contributed some data, no matter how seemingly useless it might have been...^_^;;

But I've a strict policy against cheating, unless I've completed a game, or if there's something that I can only obtain IF I cheat.
