|
|
Well, I've been thinking about this for quite a while now - 30 minutes I think.
*disclaimer* Tried doing a search, but didn't know where to look for it or which keywords to use, so found like thousands of topics. Don't know if a similar thread exists.
Which opening/ending themes fitted an anime completely? Like; did it get you in the right mood? Did the lyrics fit with the anime? And so on..
*NOTE* This is not to rant about your favorite op/ed, I don't care how good the song is, only if it fits the anime.
Posted here because I hate spammers filling up threads with useless replies.
Please give an explanation as to why you think the op/ed fits the anime.
For me:
Twin Spica opening
Venus Say by BUZY. The song fits perfectly with the theme of the anime. You get in the right mood, and the lyrics are very relevant for the anime too. Don't think it needs much more explanation.
Neon Genesis Evangelion ending
Fly Me to the Moon by Frank Sinatra. Especially later in the anime this ending fits perfectly. I know many people don't like it and say the theme of the ending song has nothing to do with the anime. I disagree. If you analyse the ending song with the anime next to you, they definately match.
Yami to Boushi to Hon no Tabibito opening
Hitomi no Naka no Meikyuu by Aiko Kayou. Love this song. everytime I hear it I think about the anime. They match perfectly, but I just can't put my finger on why..
Pani Poni Dash! opening and ending
Too many to mention, but they're almost all by Momotsuki Gakuen A ☆B Gumi. What to say? Weird songs to an even more weird and spontanious anime.
Have a few more older series I'd like to mention here, but can't really remember too much about them, so I'll save that for another day ^^
Another question out of the blue: Do you think you can have a great op/ed fitting perfectly with the anime if you just hated or didn't like the anime? Or do your feelings about the theme songs depend on your overall feelings about the anime? _________________ "It is also paradox that the earth moves round the sun, and that water consists of two highly inflammable gases. Scramble - School Rumble OP
Very good op and very fitting to the anime.
Hit In The USA - Beck OP
Again, a very fitting song for the show. |

I always liked the outro by Savage Genius - Itsuka Tokeru Namida (I think that was it's name) to Uta Kata it's probably the only outro I never skipped as I always watched it. The song and the clips fitted together and yeah I truly loved the song.
Think the band/songwritter actually went all the way to the place where Uta Kata take place and drew inspiration from it and the story for the ending. It has abit of sadness in it or maybe that's just me and it really feelt like it fitted in with the anime. The lyrics the little I remember also fitted quite good. |

Galaxy Angel (all of them) - very whacky, energetic
Air (op, Tori no Uta) - I can't really place my finger on, I mean, the song is lively and upbeat and puts the viewer in a happy mood, but the series is the complete opposite. Maybe it's just the irony the producers were looking for
others:
Mai-HiME (op and ed)
Neon Genesis Evangelion (op)
Mahou Sensei Negima (op)
Uta~Kata (op and ed) _________________

I completely agree on that song. I think lots of other people who watched that series would agree as well. That opening might have been the most memorable thing about that series anyways. The ending song wasn't bad either. Listening to the opening song reminds me of a train ride.
The opening music (Duvet) and animation of Serial Experiments Lain. It will remain as one of the most memorable openings in all anime I've ever seen. The series itself had a huge impact on me as well. _________________ [IMG:258:200]http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v435/ypark/sigs/3fsn.png[/img] |

The Opening for Fafner: Shangri-La by angela. The song talks about maturing and the "loss of innocence", somethng that the show deals with, especially earlier on. it is a pretty cool and catchy song too. _________________

"To the other side of the Door" and "Indelible Sin" were both, I thought, perfect endings for Fullmetal Alchemist. Both animation sequences capture the mood of the series very well, and give the sense that Ed and Al keep on going, their determination to achieve their goal pushing them on even when times are rough for them and it seems like they can't go any further. The film slides of Ed and Al's childhood in the second ending were very nice. I also felt that the lyrics for these songs, especially "To the other Side of the Door", did just as good a job as the animations at capturing this mood. _________________ [IMG:500:100:5f9d323c6a]http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v439/spender/Witchbladebanner3.jpg[/img:5f9d323c6a]

I think the opening for chobits (let me be with you(?) or whatever it's the title) really fits in the series, (even if i don't like it) becaus it's lirics really talk about some of the mayor deeds of the series (chii searching for the one for her). _________________ -Satuross

well so far i think it's midori no hibi ED (Mou Sukoshi...Mou Sukoshi by Atsumi Saori). It really reflects the story...
chobits's second ED theme is pretty good too (Ningyo Hime). The lyrics really touched me... |

Minamikaze by Mikuni Shinokawa, opening theme of Full Metal Panic: The Second Raid. It really fits the series. _________________
