what do you think is a more refined/harder technique to master?
the art of a mangaka? or a fine artist?

mangas usually tend to keep it simple, but to be so simple and be able to portray everything they want to is quite a skill

fine art takes more time, and it is open to the viewer.

so which is a more harder technique to master?

It realy depends on many things....

Some ppl find it easyer to draw cartoons/manga....
Some fin it easyer to paint on canvas or do large pieces of art....

one thin is certain....it takes time to do both (honistly...the only reason mangas seem quicker to do is because they get published very fast.....but it most of taken the manga-ka many years to achieve such skill and speed.)

Same goes for fine art.....it look like it takes long because the artist usualy has to plan his work out first....and because most artist have the advantage of not being on a deadline....

What counts....is that they are both forms of art and both require skill to get noticed and liked.....

I like to do both and I can't deny that fine art's a lot tougher, but because fine art's so time consuming, it's nigh impossible to actually convey an entire story by myself using the fine art style. Less time to think about things like direction, story, characters and stuff, so both mediums have their advantages/disadvatages.

i am one of those people who can only draw realistic people and objects. if you asked me to draw in manga form, i wouldnt be able to, so i guess it depends on the person.

I suck at any kind of drawing, but I stick with manga because I like to draw it more. I don't really think you can compare or contrast any kind of arts though--it'd be like realism or impressionism--both are arts, but you can't compare them. The art in manga is that it's so simplistic and symbolic. The panel and transitions themselves become pieces of artwork.
Fine arts= cool
manga arts = cool

me = suck at both, but appreciate both equally. (and just as I hate some fine arts, I do hate some manga as well...so, a draw)

I like the style of manga. It's very close to some old paintings I've seen.

One was called the Descent of Appollo. It was very hard to tell whether Appollo was male or female.

Well...

to put it this way...

All mangakas don't have a life.
Some fine artists have a life.

so...

Still, comparing apples and pineapples...
Don't work none to well, ne?

I mostly draw with manga/art, since it is the art form I started with and only recently have I deviated toward fine arts.
Though, I do do both : 3

Not really harder to master. I think it alot harder to draw real people than fake.
