Hantsuki Info & Reviews
well then first episode subbed by AnimeU.
First Impressions: If Fall was a season for action-type animes, then Winter is either a season for romance/harem type anime. It was a pretty sweet story so far.
Putting the setting in a hospital, I believe "life/death and love" would take a central role. Both of them got some sort of illness (Hepatatis for Yuiichi, weak heart for Akiba, maybe doc can clear this up ) though Akiba's illness is much more serious. The old perverted man just cleared up the risk involved, and what is at stake. (You remember when he asked Yuiichi to come to his room and read his porn, he tried to fend it off, but never got to fulfill his "promise") Never knew that perverted old man could play such a "big" role for such a minor character (heck I even thought he was going to be the "perverted one" in these type of anime)
It is not as sweet as Kashimashi, but a romance-type anime with a straight 1-1 relationship is definitely a plus. Reminded me of Ah! My Goddess when I think of this. _________________ ... |

well...I just watched the first episode a few minutes ago and the first thing that I noticed in the opening was the girl looked like Hazuki.
The setting was in a hospital, along with a strict nurse and a 'ero-Jijii" who has collection of "H" magazines. halfway thru the episode Yuuichi was told about a girl who just transferred in. And the nurse made a deal with Yuuichi that she'd remove the beanch if he make friends with her. After bbeing friends, Akiba told Yuuichi that she was looking for a mountian hwere her father took her when she was small and also told Yuuichi that she has a serious disease that may cause her death in her surgery for heart transplant.
Later that night he took Akiba to the Mountain to fulfilll her wish to reach the "Mountain Fortress". then yuuichi suddenly collapses..thus ending the episode.
What I can say is....This a must-see series that deals with the precious ness of time left for those with dieases. Go get it! _________________

I just dl'd and watched the first ep a few min ago, and since the summary has basicly been handled, i'll jump straight to the coments and thought on the ep.
its refreshing to watch an anime that doesent have an entire cast of girls competing for the main male lead's attention, in that everytihng is setup in the beginning and we get to see how it evolves. i was a bit surprised that the old man died so early in though
and the preview:
and who's this guy we see in the preview?!?! a rival for out main lead???
this'll probably be a series for me to follow, just to see how things turn out
edit:i guess i should spoiler everything since its so early in the series... _________________ Signature, what signature?

Hmm... you got a point here mistabean... but this is definitely not a Harem one... ^^
I can understand Yuiichi's situation as I have been in his shoe once and even now I still got the same sickness that been hunting me for more than 10 years now... Though it is not serious to the extend where it could have took my life away like 8 years ago but it still gives me problem once in a while. Aaa~ I got weak heart ^^
Yuiichi somehow reflection my myself during my past when Hospital is the place I call Home. Well sneaking out from Hospital I do not but breaking havoc in the hospital I did. ^^
However, this OVA looks promising enough. Though the character design isn't any great for a year 2006 production but I can't wait on what's going up next. Is it just me or Akiba sounds and act alot like Shana? Oh... that kind of old men I meet plenty during my days... including a Ojii-san who bought me a Game Boy Color although we just stay in the same wad room. I wonder if the nurse going to play a much important role later on... as you can see in both the op and ed... only Akiba and Yuiichi's make appearance.

I had the feeling that the series was going to be all angsty...Looks like I was proven wrong with the first episode.
I think it was pretty good. the first episode. We are given some introductions to the main characters and the story's mostly concentrated on the characters we see in the hospital as well as the people close to them. Slowly it should develop to the other characters as well, from what I can deduce from the preview.
The character designs seem a little familiar...Wonder who was the animation artist for this...Anyway, looking forward to the next episode. It seems interesting enough. _________________ [IMG:350:100:b32e8a3e97]http://i10.photobucket.com/albums/a103/FAITH01/tomoyo1.png[/img:b32e8a3e97] |

Episode 2 is out, by the way...
A more cliche point in the story about the misunderstanding about the porn mags, and more confusion created by the doctor. What is it that he really wants? Why does he put Yuuichi in a difficult spot time and again? Seems that only the next episode will reveal those.

Hehe, I disagree. I admit, Kashimashi's first episode was really interesting and absorbing, but the 2nd episode was a BIG let down. It was not funny and the events, lacking.
Hantsuki on the other hand was surprisingly funny. They have a nice set of non-cliched characters. The nurse rocks! I do feel that things for the first episode were rushy, but the 2nd episode proved that it was a nice pace by introducting another character - the sadistic doctor. I love the night scenes, especially the screencap where Akiba is looking out the window.
A beautiful 1-1 relationship genre. (The ED was kinda weird though, the last picture in particular).
The spoiler function doesn't work really well when you quote someone, hehe. |

I think episode 3 'salvaged' what many call a weak episode...
We finally see why Natsume treats Yuuichi with that contempt and understand why the heck he tries to separate them. Good intentions indeed...With a sad past to boot.
Tsukasa sure is a steadfast friend, considering how strong he is to hold Yuuichi on that rope while he picked Rika's book up. All's well that end's...not so well. Yuuichi forgiven...But it seems and can be assumed that the success rate of the surgery for Rika is low, seeing as how her mother cried.
It's getting a little more depressing....Apparently Rika likens herself and Yuuichi to a Giovanni and Campenella(sp?) in the novel that Yuuichi got back for her, and it seems that the ending was not a happy one...Could she be giving up already on hopes for surviving...?
Anyway, the next episode doesn't seem like anything too exciting will happen, though we might get to understand a little more of Rika, perhaps.

Goddamn. This show was awesome. Just finished the last episode. An anime with a satisfying ending! Finally. I thought this anime did a very good job.
It seem to capture the true aspects of life(in a small country) instead of some place that doesn't exist. To me this show felt very realistic and believable. Must be my number 2, right after KgNE^^.
A definite must see! Can't belive not much people have watched this! _________________ The hardest person to forgive is yourself~ |

just 6 episodes but i thought it was pretty good and had a good ending too. I like how they used the half-moon to symbolize the theme. Or maybe i am just totally wrong... _________________ [img:250:112:a3991f200c]http://img406.imageshack.us/img406/3880/shufflesig1qq.jpg[/img:a3991f200c]

Some ending...Totally caught me unprepared, that one. It's been great, these past six episodes, and I actually found myself wanting more, darn it. What I can't believe is that this is the second six-parter to make it to the list of my best anime so far. _________________ [IMG:350:100:b32e8a3e97]http://i10.photobucket.com/albums/a103/FAITH01/tomoyo1.png[/img:b32e8a3e97] |
