| Yeh he did. And he looked stupid as a result. But by episode 2 he was starting to open his eyes a bit. |

| I think they gave Vincent squinty eyes to show that he was wandering through life in a daze not knowing who he was. But when he saw real Ergo woke up in him again and he had a purpose and he woke from his daze. |

It seems like all the groups doing subs for this stopped releasing at exactly the same time. It's not just the latest episodes that aren't coming out, I haven't seen ANY episodes at all for at least a month! Maybe it's some big conspiracy! |

well i have noticed the raw episodes are already in their 20's. my boyfriend had already seen the raw 22 or something but his friend ended up translating it for him. [he's addicted haha] i think something's up with the Ergo dubbin' personale that we confide in. i'm sure they're busy with other stuff and decide to probably...maybe not but..let the series end and do them all in one batch?? it seems fucked up but i can't blame them. however, it's not like a Naruto + Bleach [for example] where we don't know the end and we always see everything Thursday, our anime freshly dubbed for our viewing pleasure.
::shrug:: or maybe they're just lazy....but we shouldn't sweat. lets give it a bit more time, eh?? |

You're right, of course. I think we all know how much effort goes into subbing. Plus it seems there's a whole lot of extra effort on the research front that many groups are going into for this particular series. I'm not trying to sound ungrateful, or anything. That said, this is one of my favourite anime at the moment, and I won't say the ever increasing wait isn't getting to me just a little bit... |

I thought it was all part of his perfect citizen act. He squinted as it made him look more innocent, weak and unassuming. Not the sort of person that would cause any problems for the city. |

Yeah, partly. I think it's also to do with the idea that these 'perfect citizens' have to kill their personalities. The eyes are the focal point of the face, and therefore most human emotion (and in fact the idea of a soul or spirit) are seen to be tied to them. That and Ergo Proxy is 'asleep' at that point, hence the constant shuteye he's getting.
Isn't shuteye a stupid word? I've just said it ten times to myself and now it's totally meaningless! |

Ergo Proxy - Geneon
License announced in April at the MIP TV trade show and confirmed at Anime Expo 2005.
It is licensed which is why the fansubs stopped. |

Doh!
Shinsen still list it as an active project though...
Besides, wasn't Blood+ licensed ages ago? There's still eps of that coming out from multiple groups. |

true but they do it ever so discreetly i think.... I hope Ergo Proxy doesnt go down hill like a lot 24 episode shows do around episode 15.
Till now, my favorite 24 episode show remains Basilisk and my favorite 13 episode show remains Elfen Lied. |

I kinda liked it. It felt a bit rushed towards the end, but that's what you get when you try to squeeze a thirty minute show into a twenty five minute show!
I found parts of it really funny, like the run up to the OP, and also
Pino pulling faces in the sound proofed booth. Oh, and Pino drawing the mosaic.
Pino still rocks. |
