Ergo Proxy Reviews and Info.
This will probably be one of the highlights in the anime industry this year. Animation will be strong, with Geneon Entertainment (responsible for Fate/Stay Night and Shakugan no Shana) heading this project. Judge fpr urself by watching the trailer in their website http://www.ergoproxy.com/trailer/index.html
Plot fr ANN
In a world where humans and robots live together, there exists a domed city named "Romudo". Under full management control, it is a paradise which does not need feelings. But this utopian landscape is soon broken by a series of mystifying murders. Ril Meyer, a female inspector from the Citizen Information Board, is tasked to solve the murder cases. As she digs deeper, she is soon entangled into the mystery of the "Awakening", which will change her life, and the lives living in Romudo...forever.

Its by the makers of Ghost in the shell and Witch Hunter Robin so its got to be good. Plus I love that dark kind of feel to these. This WILL be the best of 2006 if not one of the best. _________________ Eat or be eaten... |

| Looks like I found another anime to spend my time in anticipation of each release. Can't wait. Looks like it'll be amongst the top of 2006. |

Only the WMV links are working for me.. but from what i have seen this is going to be one hella good anime... this might be another one of those intellectual plots where you have to rewatch it a few times to really dig in the meaning.. hopefully its not too deep... animation is cool, action is good as well... be looking forward to this one.. _________________

some kind of a first episode has just been release in raw forms. One is a gigantic 1280 x 760 hi-res, and the other a 704 * 396 version. But I don't think it's the first episode, although it is an episode's length... or is it? (since the name of the first episode is, surprisingly, Awakening... the same as the episode name of the raw)
Either way, Paranoid Android from Radiohead is the OP (I guess)... and it was helluva anime... I think this might destined to win greatly _________________ ... |

I don't really know the marketing strategy here, but whatever...
That is supposed to be the first episode of Ergo Proxy. They'll be broadcasting it again on the 25th and that's when they'll start up the TV run as well. As for the theme songs, they'll be added in later on this month. Anything with Radiohead shall get my attention.
As for the anime itself, I have sort of mixed feelings. There was a lot happening and the show didn't really take time to explain itself. Instead, there's just one chase or fight scene after another with a little bit of talking inbetween. I'll have to say the animation is quite gorgeous, even though it was dark, so I couldn't see it half the time. It does look like something out of GONZO, though I didn't see their name anywhere in the credits... Either way, the girl with the overused blue eyeshadow (I think her name was Lir) caught my attention, so I'll be giving this series a look when it starts its run later on this month. |

Watching... watching...
Impressed with the animation, very detailed. Also, love Lir's character and design. Like fresh_concept said, a little overuse with the eye shadow (very showy with a side profile), but this is what makes her stand out, makes her sexay~
She seems to have a cat-ear-like hairstyle as well. Interesting, it's only her that I'm looking forward to thus far. Everything else didn't qutie interest me. I felt sleepy after finishing the episode, looked at the clock, and saw 9:47pm... too damn early to feel sleepy.
I felt that they tried to compress too much in one package, still not giving out the story. Names were blurted everywhere and there was no real reason behind everyone's action. Not a big deal, but not enough mysterly or curiosity-inducing elements to keep me excited to watch the next episode.
Yeah! Lir! (<-- hot). |

First episode seems very dialogu heavy to me. A lot of things going on with no explanations given. At the end of the episode, I was like wtf is going on?! Thye introduced too many characters and concepts at one go while not giving us time to settle in. Why is it the last paradise? What are those robots. What are proxys and there are two of them and one seems to know and want to protect Lir?
The most interesting characters would be Lir and Iggy and the atmosphere of the episode reminds me of Witch Hunter Robin and Blade Runner.
The colour scheme used however reminds me of Blood+.
Will definetly be watching this. |

Just finished watching the anime, it's really good. Well be waiting for the next episode! Lir is cool! I think all anime start out like this, they don't really want to give to much info so the viewers will want to see it more to know whats going on...
I know the ergo proxy(monsters) are after Lir....which makes me think that her grandfather is most likely the creator of the two and something to do with Lir...unless that old person(who I think sounds like a female) in the chair whos face we don't see is her grandfather. it's not earth cuz the humans and alien look alike are called immigrants...and those alien things are under human control or vice versa so the proxy might be one of their savior?....in the begining one of the monsters says the creator made us for this reason, and says something like I can hear the awakening....of who? them or Lir?(the awakening written on the mirror) and firstly I don't know if the first monster was trying to hurt Lir he had tears in his eyes and then she....either the other come to save her or to keep her for himself....this all has something to do with Lir(her awakening)but then again I can be wrong.

| Another thing I found interesting is that
The virus that the aliens have is called Cogito which in Latin means "I think," but in philosophical the term is used as shorthand for Descartes famous dictum "I think therefore I am," which, in Latin, is "Cogito ergo sum." Ergo means "therefore" and proxy means "A person authorized to act for another"...
