Why do most people prefer Manga over Anime (myself included).
I like Manga better cause I can just scroll trough a chapter quickly and instead I have too wait until the anime is done burning time.
I still like fights on anime better tough. |

Often, I find that when I prefer a specific manga to its anime, it's because the anime isn't true to the manga. Without naming it to avoid spoilers, I know of one title where, in the anime, three of the four main characters die, but in the manga, at least on of them survives, probably more.
In general, I also find that it's easier to find a specific fact or event in a manga than in the anime with the same title. |

cuz manga leaves more to imagination. I can make up alot of things in the manga myself which is more pleasing than anime.
have you ever watch anime and feel like "oh god, this guy's look and voice are totally diasterous"? |

| In my opinion the story in the manga is usually more fleshed out and more detialed while the anime usually leaves something out. Plus the anime is usually based off the manga so if its following the story closely then by reading the manga youd know what happens next faster heh. But one thing i read off someones sig that i find to be true as well is that unlike anime manga has no music score heh. |

well, there's more manga than anime. But if you ask why ppl prefer the manga over the anime of the same series, it's probably because they read the manga before the anime. And, since they do that, they have this sense of a higher expectation for the anime. However, since the anime has to follow the manga, there usually is nothing new in the anime for the watcher's enjoyment. Their sense of wanting to see more than the manga fromt he anime is crushed. So, they just criticize the anime and claim to like the manga better.
However, I think that if you start out a series by watching the anime, you may just find that you like the anime more than the manga. To those none-believers, try it and see. |

| I prefer anime to manga. The only reasons I could say that manga is better than anime is because the anime doesn't always remain faithful to the manga in terms of events and characters. Also, there are no filler arcs to deal with in manga (but you have to deal with the fact that the story usually moves at a snail's crawl in exchange for that) |

| I have seen many animations before reading the manga. Just about every series, though I already saw the anime, were better in the manga. I just love the development and the use of imagination in mangas, not to mention like everyone else has. Anime is rarely strict to the manga story. Take Ichigo 100% for example. The story line in the anime jumps around so fast... Disappointing |

First of all i dont need to spend xxx time to download each chapter of anime. Manga is better for people who likes to imagine some things. Its true that shounen anime is better than manga because you can see all those fights etc. However romances and similiar are better in manga format than anime. First you get more expanded story you get better explenation of each character their life and history. Anime usualy cuts some things. Also manga usualy goes much further than anime because anime usually ends in like half of manga or goes to alternate ending. In manga you can see more things you know (ecchi things for example) which couldnt be aired on tv. Also many mangas have better drawing than anime if author is really skilled. _________________

For the most part Mangas are usually a lot more detailed and has added information than the animes... and you have a much better grasp at how you want to pace yourself in the story... plus if you are the imaginative type, the manga does give you enough room to do your imagining... _________________

Here is my comparison and I think manga is better mostly because of the storyline. Except for the sensation mode because anime include more effects.
Manga
-Most of the times is the original storyline
-Detailed events
-Better sense of the storyline
-Original happenings of the story
-Normal storyline
Anime
-Most of the times adapted from manga
-Detailed animation of an action
-Better senstation of surroundings (visual and sound effects)
-Add/cut scenes that makes it most of the times worse
-Too long or too short storyline |

well, considering that no one is ever going to agree on this subject, why doesn't everyone just relable their topics to something like "which do you prefer, manga or anime? why or why not?"
i prefer manga because too many times the art style of the animation studio fails to live up to the standards of the author on a regular basis. take pretty much any anime for example and you will see that there are good episodes when something important is going on and ones that are less and less in terms of quality for others. also there are the hybrid ones where the animation will be ok or bad at the beginning and then be really good at the end (i.e. the episode where z fighters find dr. gero and #19 in the city only has really good animation during the scene where yamucha gets stabbed through the chest.)
another thing is that in manga there are no fillers. considering that the majority of them don't really do anything for the story, i think it'd be better if they just either left them out, received instruction from the author on what should be in them, or just take a break and restart when they have enough manga chapters to make an arc from.
i like anime because it's fun to watch and see how it is brought to life on tv, though this is often marred by half-hearted efforts by the staff of the companies that are handling the product.
so, i guess i'll have to choose manga because it's more portable anyway. _________________ Happiness stems only from violence... and from a special type of masochism called "love." |

It probably depends on the anime and manga in question. (Vague... whoo)
In general, manga has more stuff jammed into it, and most animes don't follow the storylines of their manga-counterparts very well.
Some anime series are very true to the manga, though, and those are pretty darned fun to watch... unless the voiceacting is bad.
The thing about anime is that, even if the anime is true to the manga in every way, be it character designs, "camera" angles, timing, or dialogue, the manga allows the reader to create his own voices, situations, etc. for everything, whereas an anime does not.
It should be noted, of course, that there are numerous animes out there that were never based on mangas in the first place. Kaleido Star, Samurai Champloo, Cowboy Bebop, FLCL, etc. In these cases, it's often true that the anime is better than the manga, though it's more likely for a manga based on an anime to be more popular than the anime than it is for an anime based on a manga to be more popular than the manga. (If that made sense to you... congratulations... =P) |
