I think Scott McCloud pointed it out the best when he described the effect on our emotions that comics can provide that other forms of art (such as animation) can't.
For example, he drew two panels side by side. The first was of a man holding an axe, looking like he was about to swing. The second was a shot of the outside of a building, with a loud scream eminating from it.
He never showed us anyone being killed, but in our minds we put someone underneath the man with the axe, and had someone brutally attacked and killed. In a way, everyone who looked at those two panels secretly took part in a murder that the artist did not commit.
IMO most a lot of manga end up being much better than the anime. The anime tend to be the usual 26 episode series, so they sometimes arent able to fit in some of the stuff for the manga. As for manga, there really arent any normal/set chapters.
IMHO, we can see the details of the manga, where as inside the anime, you are only shown a certain part of the anime (the focus of our sight is small). Moreover, for ex: a mischiveous One piece or rave; it got a lot of small details that you wouldn't see it in the anime ... and that what makes it worth to read manga
I think anime is more explicit in terms of details and animation(obviously), whereas manga is more focused on plot and leaves more to the readers imagination. I would have to say I like manga better.
1st. Manga has more details, like everyone has said then animes. Manga comes from the own original author itself and if its anime made from manga, the story line is being changed when its being converted... thus, Manga wins 1 point
2.Manga is always cheaper than animes. I think the age group which reads manga and watches anime are school kids who does not have the abiliity to work and earn one's own money, thus, they will go for the less expensive way. 2nd and important point for manga
3.Manga is able to bring out your imaginative juices instead of animes, which spoon feeds you with all the things. 3rd point for manga
4.Manga can be carried anywhere and animes cannot, another point for manga.
There are also many other reasons, like manga is faster, manga lasts longer
i find manga much better than anime...first anime sometimes has lots of filler episodes which spoils the story...apart from tat manga always faster than the anime;if the anime is faster...then it would be a diff story already

I know some people think manga are better than anime and others think anime are better than manga. Well, for me, I think both rules. Manga is more into the details of course, but it's black and white (most of the time). Anime tends to bring out the little things that later on creates a bigger thing (fillers and other stupid add-ons and sidestories). But in the end, I don't agree with manga>anime or anime>manga. I believe they both have their own specialities and uniquenesses
