The PSP is a wonderful handheld. People need to realize that it's strongest point is it's multimedia functions. The handheld allows you to browse the internet (granted a wireless internet provider is nearby, i.e. college campuses and hotspots in the U.S.), watch movies, and with an appropriate memory card, you can use the PSP for storage, or listen to mp3's (though I have an iPod so the music function is a waste for me).

The quality of games has been improving. It's not like the handheld has no games on it. You just have to look for them. I personally own Lumines and Megaman Powered Up and they're both very good games (Lumines being much better of the two). Some other games I've heard are good include Me and My Katamari, Burnout Legends, Fifa Soccer, Tokobot, and many more.

Well it should be safe, but nothing is 100% right. I know a lot of friends who did it to their psp and it works fine, in fact I think they found a way to make it work on 2.0+ versions, but I feel the same way CGY does so that's why I didn't hack mine... grr... the price I pay is that I have to buy the games.
