Very, very promising.
This looks totally professional. The only thing i can think of is making the backgrounds a little more 'alive', rather than set patterns as you've done thus far.

Hehe thanks. Actually, I've been paying attention to alotta different mangas and their backgrounds. There aren't many. But they have the sk1||z to fill it up with tones and stuff so you don't really notice. x_x

I really must find a way to figure that out... LOL

The layout looks fair, kinda overly linear though in a Korean type of way. Went over board on the screen tones which totally point out that it's completely CG, if you reduce it's consistancy you should be fine and don't be afraid to use processed photo stock for backgrounds. To much usage of box's just for thinking dialogue and every 'thought' doesn't need to be a complete sentence either.

What truely makes it sub-standard American mangka-wannabe is the hair highlights are straight out of tv anime. EXTREMELY few manga use that style , but 90% of all OEL actually use it. The hair 'frames' the face, so going that extra effort is really worth it. And since we're on the issue of faces try to keep your blushs simple because with only a few extra strokes you can totally change their meaning. Just about any of the Fruits Basket manga are a good example.
