The first episode has rolled off the subbers production line, although it's a soft sub though. This is one of the few shows that captured my eyes in the winter season.
First Impressions: Hmmm... character are kinda, old-fashioned looking. Like Wings of Rean type of character. But they are maybe much more closer to life though. The pacing was snail-like, but the first episode ended in high notes, particularly after the quake and he missed Megu's call (which I think, is his girlfriend)
Not dissappointing, though, like i said, the pacing was snail-like. Hope to see more of this one soon enough _________________ ...

I agree with ya, the presentation was a bit lacking in action. Minimal sound effects and BGM too. Can't say I was disappointed. But this isn't in my genre tastes.
The whole Megumi calling thing, I saw that coming.
But it was refreshing to see some realistic background scenes, and use of colours. Each character was believable really, and the main character, I bet, you can get absorbed in easily. I was particularly interested in when he rode his bike to the beach and started to mutter wind speeds, etc... does this note that he's a genius? Or is this traditional knowledge to know when you're in the defense force?
The airplane CG sequence kinda stuck out too much.

ep 2 and 3...
Some would say that it is predictable that the girl didn't make it, but it always perfect for setting up the plans for "rookies learning from mistakes". Some background on Hongou too though...
This anime has the potential to be good... all it needs is some subbers to continue working on it... _________________ ...

this show pwns ALL!!!
ep 4-7
Starting with Uchida going emo when his first "rescue" ended in a failure, he still goes emo, even after Megumi cheered him up (who looks awfully like Toujou Aya... heck they even voiced by the same seiyuu as her, and also doing Enma Ai~). Though i thought he was the one who are supposed to cry after he let it all out (kinda), Megumi does it for him...
episode 5... well he saw the medic's training, and also an emergency firsthand. I think he lacks teamwork and ability to trust his colleagues and his skill for that matter
episode 6... it's all about second thoughts and stuff like that. He still depressed whether he got it what it takes to be a heli pilot and part of the team. but then an accident happened, we get to look at Hongou's past, and...
episode 7 is where it shines. The importance of teamwork, and the importance of every crew member was shown here. Not only of those in the air, but also on the ground, when it focuses a bit on the prep crew. But they didn't take much effort in order to bring out the suspense and the thrill in the rescue scenes... just like Rescue 911, anime-style!!
But when they bring up the guy though... it was heart-warming indeed
